If there is a UL tag on the cord, more likely forged in China.

Remember those Air Friers? What a scam. Commercials all the time, and a successful marketing ploy, for a piece of Chinese junk. Everyone had to have one. Most have been discarded or are just gathering dust.
Oh the power of the mass marketing scam..

The product works just fine without the thermal overload switch. Needless expense to put one in.

I bought 4 air fryers at Best Buy this past year but they were all the Bella brand.

Never got one. Figured that air or not, it would still be unpleasant to clean.

Do the air fryers that work without melting down do a good job? Never tried one. I am curious how food “fried” with almost no oil tastes.

If you want to die by deep frying, it is a good compromise. You can eat greasy food like you’ve never done before, and tell yourself it is healthier than deep fried. Calamari, onion rings, etc. Food cooks best that has its own grease. Yum!
When it’s time to clean, it’s off to the landfill with this Chinese-made crap!

I am a fan of air fryers. Food tastes great.

“I bought 4 air fryers…”
I suppose one could give plastic ovens to someone they did not like.

I use one I’ve had for three years almost daily. I love it.

My wife wanted one. Bought it, has been used maybe three times. She now hates it as it is a pain to clean. Gathering dust…

I used to build electric signs in FL and was self employed selling to the trade for a time. I had my UL listing with special electric sign UL stickers to put on the signs I built. I tend to look for the UL logo on things but rarely see it anymore. What I see is ETL, if anything, a Canadian version of UL that’s easier and cheaper to get.

My impression is that it’s a mini broiler, the bottom half of which you can stick in the dishwasher. I’ve never fried anything in one, but it works great to broil just about anything I’ve put in it.
One thing I’ve never figured out is the Instantpot. I use a regular pressure cooker and don’t understand how the Instantpot is a better gadget.

Me too. My wife uses ours all the time. Much less hassle than deep frying and much easier to clean up.

And oil isn’t cheap these days anyway.
