What is your favorite song that actually tells a story?

I admit I saw this elsewhere but I thought it might be a good thing to put here because honestly I look and listen to songs people post. I am always entertained and it opens my mind to many different avenues of musical tastes I have not known before. I hope ones like this column.

Traffic’s John Barleycorn is a good choice: ”Little Sir John in the nut-brown bowl”. Marty Robins’ El Paso is another good choice. Although, the first one that comes to mind is Brandy, by The Looking Glass.

Alot of Maiden songs are written about history ect. Aces high is about Battle of Britain, The Trooper is about the charge of the light brigade, Powerslave about Egyptian times ect..
