Elon Musk Says He Doesn't Own A Home, Sleeps In Friends' Spare Bedrooms
NDTV ^ | 4.20.2022

I don't even own a place right now. I'm literally staying at friends' places,” he was quoted as saying by the New York Post.

“If I travel to the Bay Area, which is where most of Tesla's engineering is, I basically rotate through friends' spare bedrooms,” the Tesla CEO added.

“I don't have a yacht, I don't take vacations,” he added. Musk was responding to a question about wealth disparity across the world and the amount of money spent by billionaires.

“I think there's axiomatic flaws that are leading to that conclusion. It would be very problematic if I would be consuming billions of dollars a year in personal consumption, but that is not the case,” said Musk.

"It's not as though my personal consumption is high, with the one exception being the plane. If I don't use the plane then I have less hours to work," he added.

and yet he’s willing to spend $46B of his own money on a company that is built as a house of cards, and has a ton of fake accounts (even by ELON’s acct).

something doesn’t smell right about the twit saga

He is obviously an odd person but it is indisputable that he is brilliant and gets things done. I don’t have to agree with him on anything to recognize that our nation is fortunate to have him as a citizen and titan of industry.

His honesty about many topics is refreshing. The left is going to make every effort to kneecap him using any means necessary after he takes over Twitter. He knows this and does not care.

His one extravagance -- trolling.

Yes I'm being sarcastic, but I have seen that theory advanced by certain leftists.

Musk is willing to spend $46B on Twitter because he cares that much about free speech online.

Even if he doesn't succeed, everyone on this forum is in his debt, just for the effort.

Musk is on the spectrum. People like that tend to focus on their obsession to the exclusion of most other concerns until they have a new obsession.,

He didn’t really “spend” $46 billion, he invested it, knowing he would likely double his money instantly, which he did.

So Musk thinks the wealth gap is fine as long as he isn’t using his on lavishing himself with extravagant luxury items? Sorry but I don’t agree. The wealth gap today is higher than any point in history, and if something isn’t done about leveling things out a bit, you can expect a Bernie Sanders type candidate to be elected in the not too distant future.

Is it cheaper to buy twit than start your own twit like format?
Must be.

I watched one of his interviews on this Twitter saga (can't recall which one - sorry) but he gave his thoughts on America being such a land of opportunity. I believe he's genuine in his feelings about that and that is what is driving him. It's also apparent he doesn't like to lose the fights he's chosen to take on.

Agreed. Most of the great inventors in human history or men who we studied in school were on the spectrum. It is often a disability for interpersonal relationships but it is a big advantage when you leave the box of conventional thinking.

I am not sure why we should care if he has or hasn’t a personal home. Why does he feel the need to keep sharing this?

I don't think the reason he doesn't own a home is because he is stingy with his money. I think he is so focused on his work and his various ventures that he doesn't need to have a permanent home.

I actually envy the guy. He loves what he does so much that he never takes vacation and never "goes home."

I believe he maintains a “tiny house” at Starbase, in Boca Chica. But, yeah, a few years ago he sold off all of his properties.

If he takes over Twitter, have no doubt he will make money with it. Twitter is stuck at about 300 million users thanks to its draconian censorship.

If he gets control, Musk will pry it out of the hands of the Wokeratti, open it up and grow the business. Twitter after a few years of Musk at the helm would be worth much more.

Musk understands “branding” and he understands that Twitter is the big stage. Sure, you could start your own company for much less money but you cannot buy market share.

I think they pissed him off too and for a guy who does not even own a house right now but has a few extra billions laying around he likely views the kerfuffle as a bit of sport.

Something not right about this young man. Not talking about his handicap. It’s something else.
