and yet he’s willing to spend $46B of his own money on a company that is built as a house of cards, and has a ton of fake accounts (even by ELON’s acct).

something doesn’t smell right about the twit saga

His one extravagance -- trolling.

Yes I'm being sarcastic, but I have seen that theory advanced by certain leftists.

Musk is willing to spend $46B on Twitter because he cares that much about free speech online.

Even if he doesn't succeed, everyone on this forum is in his debt, just for the effort.

He didn’t really “spend” $46 billion, he invested it, knowing he would likely double his money instantly, which he did.

I watched one of his interviews on this Twitter saga (can't recall which one - sorry) but he gave his thoughts on America being such a land of opportunity. I believe he's genuine in his feelings about that and that is what is driving him. It's also apparent he doesn't like to lose the fights he's chosen to take on.

I don't think the reason he doesn't own a home is because he is stingy with his money. I think he is so focused on his work and his various ventures that he doesn't need to have a permanent home.

I actually envy the guy. He loves what he does so much that he never takes vacation and never "goes home."

He is building a satellite based internet, owning a social networking company to help transition and attract folks to it isn’t purely altruistic…

Now I don’t know what his plans are, but whatever they are, they are likely more than they appear on the surface

I’m not that smart on this type of stuff, but I don’t understand how a WEB SITE like Facebook is worth so much when it doesn’t charge you to use the site to post crap about yourself and your family for all the crooks to read and plan their attack on you or your home or business with all the personal info that folks throw around on the Internet. All these posting sites run off advertisements or such and I don’t see how that keeps them afloat. Amazon sells stuff, but how does Facebook be worth billions and stupid Twitter worth all that money? Don’t get it. Like the guy said, built on a house of cards.
