On April 18, 2022, NASA decided to move forward with plans to complete the deployment of the Lucy spacecraft's stalled, unlatched solar array...One of the fan-like arrays opened as planned, but the other stopped just short of completing this operation.

Launched on October 16, 2021, Lucy is the first space mission that will explore the Trojan asteroids. These are a population of small bodies that are left over from the formation of the solar system. They lead or follow Jupiter in their orbit around the Sun, and may tell us about the origins of organic materials on Earth.

Aren’t they using Musk’s spacecraft for the mission?

The team is now preparing to complete the solar array deployment in two steps. The first step, tentatively scheduled for the week of May 9, is intended to pull in most of the remaining lanyard and verify that flight results are consistent with ground testing.

They might have launched with a Musk rocket.
I do not think Musk has ever built a science satellite.

If only NASA used green spacecraft energy sources like solar, this problem wouldn’t have happened. I wonder if they considered wind turbines to power the satellite.
Or maybe they needed a more diverse design and engineering team. That could have avoided this problem, too.

Beat me to it; but your excerpt from the article next to the picture makes it extraordinary.
Well done!

Oh wow ... is NASA still in the space business? I thought they were spending all their money learning how to become jihadists and suking up to the camel jockys.

I made it as big as I could so you could see it.
Actually I don't know how to reduce the size due to poor html skills.

After you enter the gif info, tap the space bar once, then type width="XXX"> and of course remember to close out by close bracketing the img at the end.
Where the XXXs are is where you fill in the size you want. In the image above, it is 420. If I change it to 200, I would get the image below. I rarely have the need to go bigger than 600 or so. Hope this helps.

I think you left off the quotation marks around the size. Oh, and just FYI, I think you can just go with the width, and the height will automatically be correctly proportional. (Don’t hold me to it though, cause I’m no expert at this either, lol).
