I was a Raiders fan when I was a kid mostly due to Lamonica, thanks in part to the fact that he began his career with the Buffalo Bills (my local team). He and Jack Kemp battled for the starting job, with Kemp winning out and Lamonica being traded to the Raiders. Kemp was a good QB, but the Bills probably made the wrong choice. RIP.
