People on the fence will be pushed right over. I agree many people just can’t get up and leave but this be the straw that is needed for some.
It sure would be cheaper than staying!
When conditions become intolerable where one is, and the yearning for Freedom inspires courage? Yes. They will even risk their lives.
A fat and spoiled people won't trade comfort for Freedom, but folks with nothing left to lose will.
The left is hellbent on giving people nothing left to lose.
Well, sure, technically they could. They might not want to, or there might be some consequences, but they probably could, unless they’re under house arrest or something.
Most could keep their job while moving out of state and still not have much of a commute. It’s 48 x 37 miles.
You would be wise to structure your life in the future to be able to do just such a thing.

Yeah, they could in many cases. Others it would take a few months. Find another job somewhere else. Take the hit on your credit rating to let the bank repo the house.
If you can’t then you are not free.
That said, it would be difficult for me get up and leave from where I live now, but only because I love where I’m at. And I don’t have kids in school and all that other stuff that holds people where they are.
But you should always have an “exit ramp”.
