For many years, I made my living writing TV shows for Disney. I was proud of my work, considering it a privilege to make kids laugh all over the world. But in light of Disney's disastrous embrace of pro-pedophilia policies, I'm glad that I grew disillusioned with kids' TV and walked away from the field.
Every kids' TV writer knows that when crafting a story, you have to be careful about "modeling behavior." Whatever kids see, they imitate, so you should "model" positive traits in your scripts, particularly when writing for pre-schoolers. Imagine inserting a pint-size Larry David character in your story who is obnoxious, argumentative, and sneaky. Inevitably, you'd get back notes from the story editor telling you to revamp the script to avoid modeling negative behavior.
So Disney's recent commitment to "add queerness" wherever possible can't be explained as just trying to teach tolerance and inclusivity. The executives know that by showing "queerness," they are modeling queerness and encouraging kids to imitate that behavior.
In fact, Disney has had issues with sexualizing children for a long time. Cole Sprouse, a former Disney Channel star, recently noted that he and his co-star brother both suffered trauma from their acting career. He added, "The young women on [Disney Channel] were so heavily sexualized from an earlier age than my brother and I that there's absolutely no way we could compare our experiences."
You only need to witness the spectacular flameouts of Disney child stars Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan to wonder what traumas changed them from adorable ingenues into hypersexual vixens. Disney and Hollywood in general are wood chippers for child actors. May they all rest in pieces.
One thing about child actors: Almost none of them are what you would call “self-made.” Every single one of the ones you’ve heard about (known as “successful”) had a sociopathic parent pushing him or her into acting.
Grownups knowingly place themselves in the position of being exploited when they seek a “career” in play-acting.
Kids, however, aren’t thinking of the creepy old producer getting them drunk at a party and doing stuff to them, however. Everybody’s always nice to them. At first. And kids love attention, especially when they’re making money, too!
So, when the unsolicited touching and weird remarks start to get out of hand, the kid is not that likely to tell anyone. He won’t like it, but he’ll put up with it. He’s either too embarrassed to tell the ‘rents or too scared. And after a while, getting shagged by the crazy, smelly old producer will seem normal. He’ll start thinking of doing those things to other kids.
I’m not sure why this is, but I always saw stuff like that. When I saw the “mouseketeers” on TV I did not envy them. I thought they looked stupid and especially the girls looked so sexual it disturbed me. I DID want to play rock musick as a kid - don’t judge me too harshly - but I was more attracted to the intellectual, rebellious, don’t-tell-me-what-to-do nature of rock, not playing dress-up and having people stare at me and give me compliments. In fact, as a rock musician, I was more likely to get called a “b1tch” by one and all because I never dated the creepy old producer. I laughed at him and shot him down. Now he’s been stalking me for 30 years, wheee.
Um, sorry, kinda off-topic. But yeah: No surprise that Disney is corrupt. It always has been - it’s just that now it’s REALLY, REALLY OBVIOUS.
If you have young kids, review the idea that movies and TV are a good way to keep them quiet and out of the way and try to come up with something else. Good luck!

When Disney Plus has lost most of its subscribers, let me know. Otherwise, it is the same “outrage” that occurred at Netflix for Cuties which amounted to little to nothing in the end.

Tommy Kirk got booted from Disney in 1963 for having sex with a boy in a pool in Burbank when Kirk was in his early twenties. I don’t think your description of the company is accurate.

When I was a kid my parents would confront the freaks in the neighborhood. Now the freaks are a protected class, they know it and they exploit it.

Disney has no idea how bad the hatred of that organization is because of the violated trust of the people who always treated Disney as an outfit that worked to train children in the morals of a Jewish and Christian society. Now it comes out that Disney has allowed their organization to take in people who practice and preach perversion to the children of today. Disney will never be able to recover from the damage done by these perverts. Disney better start to clean up these clowns out of their organization, if they have any hope of regaining some of the respectability they once had. God, I hope they are smart enough to at least try.
