Slick move! Post the same link 4 times in a row and get 4 times as many people to watch the video. Why didn't I think of that? Now that I have posted the link 4 more times. 8 times as many people will watch it. What a team we make. LOL!
In this matter, any direction you point you will be pointing at inaccurate propaganda....
What is “the west’s history of Ukraine “?
The history of Ukraine is
Starts with Slavs living in the are of the pripyat marshes before 500 BC.
Under pressure from the Avars and Huns, some move west and south, becoming western and southern Slavs.
The ones left behind are eastern Slavs. No organized states
Around the 8th century they invite Varangians ie Vikings to rule them. These are the Rurikid dynasty.
That dynasty sets up cities all over, and so starts Kievan Rus, based in Kyiv. Moscow is a village outpost of Vladimir-Suzdal.
The Mongols come in the 12th century and destroyed Kyiv.
They use the duke of Muscowy as tax collector.
The Lithuanians connect with the western part of the former Kievan Rus and set up the Grand Duchy of Lithuania.
The Muscowy ruler promotes himself to Hrand Duke, fights on the side of tye Mongols against the Teutonic knights.
The grand duke of moscow destroys Veliky Novgorod, a rival Rus city and takes over the north.
Un the meanwhile Lithuania joins with poland to form the Commonwealth of Poland and Lithuania, which covers all of what is now Poland, Lithuania, Latvia and western Ukraine and central and parts of eastern Ukraine.
In the 1600s the Ukrainians rebel against Poland set up their independent state. But they ask Muscowy for help. Mistake. Big mistake.
Muscowy takes over and the grand duke titles himself Tsar and claims Moscow as the third Rome.
Ukraine is a frontier province between Poland and Muscowy until Russia, Prussia and Austria partitioned Poland in 1776 to 1791.
From the 1870s there is forced Russification in the Tsardom of Muscowy. In Ukraine this is hard as they were earlier under Polish culture and now under forced Russification.
Ukraine gets its brief independence in 1919 to 1921 but us then swallowed by the Soviet union.
In 1930 it is renewed as a Soviet federal republic.
In 1945 it is one of the founding members of the united nations.
In 1991 the presidents of the Russian, Ukrainian and belarusians agree to dissolve the Soviet union.
Left out the part where Moscow forcibly starved 7-9 million Ukrainians in the 1930s - the Holomodor.
yup
