The aqueducts were awesome manifestations of the Roman knack for practical engineering on a monumental scale. This video explores how they were constructed and used.

I'd like to thank Woosh Pipe and Drain of New York City for sponsoring this video.

Ok, but apart from the water slides, what have the Romans ever done for us?

Sounds like something from The Far Side. I remember one cartoon depicting two sentries standing atop The Great Wall of China. One was telling the other, "This should keep that dog out."

I don't know if this is something I saw, or something I made up, but I had an idea for a cartoon depicting Noah's Ark with a long row of different kinds of dinosaurs waiting to get on board, and Noah telling them, "Sorry, we're full."

If kids could do it, they did it.

Where else would you expect them to cool off after a day of chariot racing?

I think you would probably get an instant death penalty for screwing with the water supply back then. They didn’t mess around with idiots back in those days.

Auto-dead.

They were not used as water slides because they slope at less than a 1 degree angle....the lower the slope, the farther you can transport water from source.

Maybe not officially, but don’t forget the time Felix double dared Titus ....

The boys knew how to party, even then. Atticus was the worst. I’m SURE he would have done the slides.
