A great day in American History as Elon Musk appears at the opening of his giga factory in Texas.

His historic speech is Here
One must realize that Elon Musk is the tip of a large iceberg that he is creating. His genius is in having a limitless view and then attracting others to share and implement the view.
His charisma is much more than just sales man. Men of great intellect and fantastic technical ability are attracted and become part of the whole moving forward.
Cars are one product. Rockets, NASA capable rockets are another. Now there is Twitter. With a 9% stake, he is certain to attract big money share holders and combined who knows what they can make.
Just who did Musk “rob”?
Other car companies like Ford are still getting EV subsidies. Tesla is clobbered them in the market with no subsidies.
Plus Musk’s $11 Billion in taxes last year alone over covered any subsidies Tesla buyers may have gotten in the past, with plenty (Over $9 Billion to spare). The EV tax subsidies are limited to only 200,000 EV cars sold.
Musk is the definitive sales BSer. He could sell ice cream to eskimos.
I like Musk but he looks as ridiculous as Obama did with a cowboy hat. Plus real cowboys knows you have to ride and and win a buckle.
Speak for yourself, no hybrids in this line. And the worst part is that the vaunted 'supercharger' station had to throttle people due to not having a large enough electrical service, meaning it took an hour to fill up, AFTER reaching the 'pump'. Like I say, time for me is money - at least until I retire.
“Just who did Musk “rob”?”
Taxpayers, although I doubt you understand that.
His $11 Billion in taxes last year alone covered any subsidies Tesla buyers got in the past, with over $9 Billion to spare.
Next?
“His $11 Billion in taxes last year alone covered any subsidies Tesla buyers got in the past, with over $9 Billion to spare. Next?”
So robbing a bank is fine, as long as one pays it back several years later.
Gocha!
“Actually you can charge your Tesla’s everywhere, your home, office etc etc. The changer is built into the car.”
Good to hear, but I doubt that payload capacity of most Teslas can carry my home or office.
Except there was no “robbery” done, outside the fevered imagination of crazy Biden voters like you.
The EV subsidies were passed by congress and perfectly legal. When did perfectly legal subsidies become “robbery”?
And while we are talking about robbery, GM got a massive $50 Billion bailout in 2008, out of which they were unable to pay back a staggering $11 Billion! Now that is the real robbery.
Why don't you go whine about that?
“The EV subsidies were passed by congress and perfectly legal. When did perfectly legal subsidies become “robbery”?”
Try NOT paying taxes some time and get back with me.
They are not supposed to carry your shack. They can just be charged at the office or at home while you work or sleep at night and topped up on the road when needed.
They are designed that way.
Elon Musk is okay like his style reminds me of Trump don’t care for is cars but hey each to his own.
Except Musk paid a staggering record $11 BILLION in taxes last year alone.
How much did you and your pal Pocahontas pay?
“They can just be charged at the office or at home while you work or sleep at night and topped up on the road when needed.”
Perhaps a ‘road trip’ for you is to a neighboring town, and since that’s the case (apparently), you are correct.
But some of us take LONGER trips, far longer. So please get back to me when you have an EV that match my 700-800 typical daily driving distance on long trips. Until then, I’ll still need a normal car.
“Except Musk paid a staggering record $11 BILLION in taxes last year alone.
How much did you and your pal Pocahontas pay? “
Irrelevant...he still used the government to TAKE my money. Most here at FR oppose that, other than the SOCIALISTS here.
“800 mile trips are done on Tesla’s all the time.”
Not for people waiting in that charging line...so it’s the roll of the dice. Again, not a problem when I’m retired (assuming I’m not forced to spend the night in the car, due to lack of motel space).
Totally relevant. You brought in the matter of taxes, when we are talking about the biggest one year tax payer in American history.
.he still used the government to TAKE my money.
Musk did NOT take an of your pathetic little tax money.
You took Musk's money from the massive $11 Billion he paid in taxes last year alone.
