The late Betty White spent her last days at the beautiful California seaside home she and her husband, game show host Allen Ludden, built in the late 1970s. The house is now on the market, listed at $7.95 million. Thanks to photos from TopTenRealEstateDeals.com, fans can take a tour of the home without traveling to Carmel-by-the-Sea.

In the late 70’s, the earth was going to freeze , so there wasn’t concern about rising oceans. It puts her in a little different category than Obama and Pelosi with their seasides I guess.
Are you kidding? Beachfront in Carmel? They’ll get at least that.
Does it have granite countertops?
I’m not looking at any house without granite countertops.
And walk-out closets.
However, my favorite architect; Frank Lloyd Wright, said that a house cannot be appreciated until one is inside of it. And from that perspective, the house succeeds.
For later.

Nah…
The views are spectacular. I know it’s the result of staging, but the decor is really tasteful by show biz standards. 7 million seems a bit much, but it’s a seller’s market.
It feels like a bargain for a California coastal property.
A couple years ago my sister in-law and husband sold their house in the wine country Sonoma (sp) Cal. it was on an acre and a half with NO ocean view.It was at least half that size and they got 1.2 million for it!
Beautiful house, but many of those dark wood floorboards look badly cupped and should be replaced.
It’s a steal at $7 million. There’s no more oceanfront property to be had, and when properties hit the market interest is sky-high. And Carmel is gorgeous.
I agree it is a steal. I visit Carmel frequently and take my dog on the amazing dog friendly beach (next to Pebble Beach golf course). It’s like a dog’s paradise—a people paradise too.
There are reasons I’m still in CA and living an hour from Carmel is one of them. . .

peanuts.
50x100 lot with 2 bedrooms and a bath, built in the 1950’ gets 1.2 eezy pezzy in many ACELA Country suburbs.
You were looking at pictures of Brooke Shield's home which is in the article below Betty White's article.
It looks like a seaside palace built in paradise. What a place!
I am sure a large portion of that cost goes towards buying yourself a pretty piece of the Pacific Coast beach line.
What the hell are property taxes like out there?
It’s in Carmel. Location is everything. It’s priced about right for the area
Her house and the next one formerly owned by Brooke Shields are absolutely gorgeous. I wouldn’t want to be in California and they’re both WAY too big for me, but they are absolutely gorgeous houses.
