Absolutely apples and oranges. The Russians, so far, have held back in Kiev. In Baghdad, we didn’t. The Russians have used a lighter touch. Check out the C-130 gunships in action on hapless Iraqi irregulars hiding in the woods on YouTube, the drone attacks, etc.

Putin’s army hasn’t “held back” in Kyiv. They weren’t able to deploy their gunships as they don’t have air superiority.
They weren’t able to conquere with tanks as they were defeated.
