I was getting more depressed as I was going through the 70s/80s music.. then I came across this..
Same thing with the "Righteous brothers."
Ben Caplan also had that effect on me. He sounds like an old school black blues singer.
Disco, being uptempo dance music, was anything but depressing and was not hokey or cheesy. My favorite popular songs are from the Coolidge and Hoover era, but I like quite a number of disco tunes.
That sample showed a lot of the more emotive reactors....some of them not shown are more constrained and analytical while admiring the vocal skills of the singers.
Don’t forget, they want subscribers which could make them some money....so their reactions may be hammed up a bit..most probably IMHO, they viewed the video first....got their reaction, and replayed the reaction amped up.
Hopefully the reactors understand that skin color alone doesn’t matter much at all. Plus , for most young’ns..ancient history is 25 years before they were born.
One of the main premises of reaction videos is that they are younger people, and they are reacting to songs and artists they’ve never heard. I think they’re fun. It’s very interesting to note how many things they sing about in the older songs are things nobody does anymore, and that causes some good reactions. Though it is quite a stretch to ask if He Stopped Loving Her Today is a Christmas song because they put a wreath on his door. I saw a video of a guy (a white guy!) reacting to Tom T. Hall’s Ballad of 40 Dollars, it was absolutely hilarious. The guy just totally lost it, put his head down on the table and laughed so hard. Every time he would try again to talk, he’d just start laughing again. He did finally comment about all those details just to set up the final punch line. Still, though, nothing will ever top MRM’s TWO white dudes for the Righteous Brothers.
When I was a kid, I couldn’t believe Johnny Mathis was black (or part black). LOL!
How much do you know about black people's musical favorites? And kindly do not post a another hate screed.
Have you seen any young black people’s reaction to the Righteous Brothers?
Great song. Lots of cowbell.
Totally imitating Robert Plant:
Here’s the takeaway from this thread:
Based on all the comments by deep state inspired posters here, it seems what they want us to think is that black people are very different and we should consider ourselves practically another species.
My advice: learn to spot the pattern. Then ignore what the deep state is trying to make you think.
In fact, think the opposite.
First one who came to my mind was Arnel Pineda, who replaced Steve Perry in Journey. If you weren't looking, you could barely tell the difference.
When polled in a mall, 83% of Blacks couldn’t provide the name of the President of Africa
I posted the truth. Many of the black students I taught in school would react exactly as these people did. They did NOT know the Mills Brothers were black when I played the music for them. If you see it as hate, so be it. That is YOUR problem. And, NEVER, EVER, tell me what to post or not post. If you don't like what I post, move on.
I’d say, naw, yo, been being some Al Jolson lookin MF,
Loved the one they did about the Righteous Brothers!
I remember when Rush played in Brazil, they were astonished how nuts the fans down there were for their music.
I don’t like what you posted and if you don’t like me calling you out, move on. Gratuitous racism stinks up a conservative Forum.
Oh man, you stepped in it. Bring it. You have no right to accuse me of racism at all since you don’t know me. I will not be told what to think, write, say by anyone. If you knew me, you would no it to be true. Hiding behind a keyboard as usual.
The display of raw ignorance by the people mentioned is the truth. I know someone who deals with them on the phone every day. They lie about everything and then curse out whomever won’t give them what they want. Bring it.
Racism? ROFL. I dated a Japanese woman, a Chinese woman and married a Mexican woman. How could I be racist and do such? You are one who is exhibiting raw ignorance in that you do not know me...at all. I don't care what ethnicity, language, culture, color, sexual orientation, etc. someone is. When they do and say stupid things, I will comment directly about it. Take a number and stand in line behind all of the rest who have expressed their displeasure at me.
