I see comments from Mexico, and they know exactly who those bands and musicians are, and are huge fans for decades. My friends who were Panamanian when I visited there for as a teen played Hard Rock, constantly.

I remember when Rush played in Brazil, they were astonished how nuts the fans down there were for their music.

The guy they always played the most in Panama was Ted Nugent Live, Wang Dang Sweet Poon....

And that’s how I learned about Ted Nugent at 15.

I grew up around a large concentration of blacks, and their perception was that their music was always superior, they were the only group that can dance or sing, because the media and industry for decades have been making them the main part of American culture for decades. Especially, if you lived in an urban and cultural demographic that was mostly black.
