Ukraine: @arakhamia_david, Ukrainian negotiator, says Russia had indicated that draft peace treaty documents were at an advanced enough stage to allow for Zelensky-Putin talks, adds that Russia accepted Ukraine's overall position with the exception of its stance on Crimea.
More from Gönül Şamilkızı @shamilkizi:
Arahamiya, head of the Ukrainian negotiation team: “With the exception of the Crimea issue, Russia has supposedly accepted our other proposals. The difference of opinion continues on the Crimea issue. We offered to open negotiations for 15 years, they want us to recognize the occupation.”
Arahamiya: “So far, Turkey, Italy and Germany have accepted the guarantorship as offered by Ukraine. However, we want nuclear countries to be among the guarantors. Negotiations with China continue.
Arahamiya: “If the Ukrainian people do not support the neutral status of the country in the referendum, there will be two options - either war or re-negotiation”
Deep States getting ready to cut their losses and move on to the next scam...
We have whole threads here of globalists congratulating each other and cheering Biden’s Ukrainian banker boy.
The “lawfully elected government” fled the country.
Biden will not be happy if there’s a deal. I want to move on to Midterms first. Trump 2024 second.
Strange.
No de nazifacation demand.
The Putin admirers daid Ukraine was craeling with Tiki Torch carrying Nazis.
The Ukraine and Russia are barbaric nations, chock-full of vicious people.
Strange.
No de nazifacation demand.
The Putin admirers said Ukraine was crawling with Tiki Torch carrying Nazis.
Crank up COVID Part VI “The Midterms”
No country is going to nuke Russia for breaking this proposed treaty. In fact, no country is going to invade Russia. They would help Ukraine defend herself, and might even go so far as to strike Russian logistics feeding the war. Earlier reports suggested UK, a nuclear power, had signed on as a guarantor. Apparently they spoke too soon.
“Status quo ante-bellum, and Russian reparations for the damages inflicted, would be appropriate.”
Only makes sense.
Odd that when they say they want a nuclear nation as a guarantor they suggest China.
I think the UK, France, and USA would be much easier and more reliable.
I’m reluctant to give China any toeholds in European politics.
This conflict has been an unprecedented disaster for both sides and for Putin personally. Every day that it continues both countries lose people who are fleeing to other countries. These are the educated young people that both countries need. In the long run, this will be a lasting legacy that will further impoverish both countries. Russia is in demographic collapse and can ill afford such an exodus, especially of its young men. They are fleeing because there are no jobs and likely won’t be any jobs for decades. Ukraine is losing women, who are the only ones being allowed out. Many of them won’t come back because they won’t have a home to come back too. A significant percentage will settle down and find work wherever they alight. They will be a huge boon to the countries where they end up, all of which are in demographic decline.
As for Putin, his popularity was in decline as the economy got worse and he expected a huge increase as he’s had the last time he went on the warpath. It hasn’t happened this time due to the West’s response that has pulverized the Russian economy. Putin will probably have a “heart attack” and be replaced by another man who will also arrise from the swamp called FSB. (The federal security police, aka formerly known as the KGB.)
UK, France and US said that they would NOT be guarantors.
Even if one were to hold that Yushchenko's removal from office was unconstitutional, his term would have expired in 2015. There have been two elections since. Yushchenko has no claim at present to be the legitimate president of Ukraine.
Not only that but if they want Crimean and Dumbas, then they can buy it just like we did with Alaska. You are right they just can't walk away with all the damage they caused.
The USA can't afford to rebuild Ukraine and right now there is nowhere for all the refuges to return to as Pooty destroyed all their housing.
Russia can pay off the debt over years through oil transfers or other means, does not have to be cash.
Russian control of Crimea is part of the status quo ante-bellum, so not really an issue in this negotiation.
Unless the Urkainian military can seize Crimea. In which case the Russians will be forced to noegotiate for its return.
If Russia re-invades Ukraine in the future Turkey, Italy and Germany will write a strongly worded communiqué.
Does everyone here realize that in a few weeks if we saw Russian troops on TV, marching through Kiev streets, and other pictures of disarmed Ukraine troops marching off to POW camps, and lets go further, Zelensky with a government in exile in Warsaw demanding that only his representatives should have Ukraine’s UN seat, and wheat numbers from Ukraine shipped to Russia and the farmers in the Ukraine paid in rubles, Russian warships parked in Odessa harbor with their crew getting liberty ashore with the pretty Ukraine girls — do we all realize that if all that were seen, there are people on FR who would still say Russia lost and is wiped out completely.
Why would the country that was INVADED have to pay reparations to the country that INVADED it?
That's not just counter intuitive, that's flat out stupid. No way in hell Ukraine should accept any deal that doesn't have Russia pay for the damage they did, and the war crimes Russia committed.
Yanukovych.
Yuschenko was the Orange Revolution guy.
