Not being President again assures Barack will continue to live.
That's not going to happen for a myriad of reasons. Biden isn't going to resign. Harris wouldn't appoint Obama if he did. I doubt Obama even wants to be president again.
So it’s Trump vs Obama 2024. I can picture Trump projecting Obama’s fake certificate of live birth on giant screens ..and TV cameras turning away.

The problem would be that with the current makeup of the senate, if Harris resigned it would leave the Senate with a 50/50 split, and they can appoint someone all they want but it has to be approved through the senate, and with a 50/50 split it can be strung out forever.
I do not get the fixation on Obama, he was never more than a Resident, just like Biden.
I am pretty sure he is quite happy doing whatever he is doing right now.

Actually, it wasn't that quick. U.S. communists were so micromanaged by Stalin, it took a couple weeks. Because Stalin was so depressed by Hitler's betrayal, he holed up in his dacha. U.S. communists were still calling FDR an imperialist until word came down from Stalin.
It would have been so easy to draft an Amendment that said, “Any person who has served two terms as President subsequently ceases to be eligible to the office”.

Well l take this as a intellectual exercise. I think theoretically It’s possible. They find a way to dump Kamala and Joe can appoint Obongo. Then invoke the 25th. The GOP would go along considering the alternatives are Harris or Pelosi. That said it seems like a fantasy
