When I used to write letters to the editor to newspapers, I realized few read long ones. I made a rule for myself.

One 8 1/2 X 11 page, double spaced, typewritten.

It made for a perfect 2 column piece, fairly short.

People read them.

It is much harder to edit down to that length than to write a long piece.

If you want people (including me) to read what you write, figure out how to say it in that amount, no more.

The latest distraction, that I’ve noticed....on tv and radio ads (even Spotify) are ads for mental health treatment....for KIDS, and....global/Earth first ... rather than country, or national esteem.
