I ordered a turkey sandwich at a chain restaurant with the instructions “just lettuce and tomato on it please.” When I picked it up and took it to my table, I noticed it was a bun with lettuce and tomato. I looked at the order receipt and it said “no meat”.
I took it back to the counter and said “what is it about ordering a turkey sandwich that makes anyone think ‘no turkey’?? They took the sandwich and added some turkey meat. Problem solved.
However, I kept the receipt for months just to show people I wasn’t lying about my experience. One lady told me, “This is Austin. Lots of vegans”.
Which is probably why they did it. You were a reasonable person who, when they didn't get what you ordered, accepted it could be easily fixed.
Most vegans and vegetarians would likely have had an absolute meltdown in the opposite situation.
It's safer for the employees to deal with fixing something for you, than trying to fix something for them.
Ha! I ordered a ham sandwich at McAlister’s for my grandson, a ham sandwich with nothing on it. They seriously served him two slices of bread.
Don't see why you would complain.
