Chris Rock's comedy tour ticket sales have seen a major boost after Will Smith slapped him in what has become a viral moment. After telling a joke about Smith's wife, Rock got much more than he bargained for from the defensive husband at the Oscars Sunday night.
The slap heard around the world was by far the most talked about event of the Oscars, and the wave of attention could be driving comedygoers to see Rock perform live.
More tickets for his tour were sold over one night than in the past month, according to a report.
Ticket prices have also seen a significant change.
Tickets sat at a minimum price of $46 per ticket on March 18, but that price has now risen to a minimum of $341.
The 57-year old comedian is set to perform at least six shows at Boston’s Wilbur Theatre before launching his Ego Death World Tour on April 2.
"Lauded by peers and critics alike, Chris Rock is one of our generation’s strongest comedic voices," Live Nation said in a statement. "With a career spanning more than three decades, Rock has enjoyed ongoing success in both film and television as a comedian, actor, writer, producer and director."

Will Smith knew he was sitting in the splash zone he should have been prepared.
Jada’s too black for Sniffy.
I will gladly agree to be slapped across the face if it can dramatically boost my income.
All that money would quickly ease the pain on my face.
Yep. If you’re in the front row you know there’s a good chance of being called out.
Why the heck is the entire world media obsessed with a minor on-stage spat between an actor and a comedian?
Oh, maybe it’s spelled “DISTRACTION.”
We need to see how the sales for Chappelle’s and Gervais’s shows are doing. I know they will have something to say about this. And maybe someone named Sediuk.
OOOHHH. Nice Gallagher reference.
You don’t slap a well known comedian.
There’s just too much future material there...
I would watch the Oscars if it featured a stand up comedian as a host skipping the award presentations, presenters, awardees, live audience and musical sets. Yes, I would gladly watch Rock or Chappelle or Gervais run their mouths for an hour but prefer not to watch poor impulse control Smith find something to do with his hands while they are performing.

So being fake slapped at the Oscars is the new Banned In Boston?
Keep paying attention to this BS and it will engulf you, disable you, and destroy you.
