Piers Morgan had an interesting take on the Will Smith/Chris Rock incident last night on Tucker. If you watch Will's initial reaction, he's laughing, so it must have been his wife who was offended, which is why he did what he did.
Not knowing anything about G.I. Jane, I don't know why she considered the reference to be an insult.
