Will Smith has finally issued a real apology for his atrocious behavior at the 94th Academy Awards on Sunday. Read:
“Violence in all of its forms is poisonous and destructive,” said Smith’s statement. “My behavior at last night’s Academy Awards was unacceptable and inexcusable. Jokes at my expense are a part of the job, but a joke about Jada’s medical condition was too much for me to bear and I reacted emotionally.”
“I would like to publicly apologize to you, Chris,” he added. “I was out of line and I was wrong. I am embarrassed and my actions were not indicative of the man I want to be. There is no place for violence in a world of love and kindness.”
Smith also apologized to the Academy and others involved in the Oscars’ production.
At his Oscars acceptance speech for winning Best Actor, Will Smith was apologetic — but he did not issue an apology to Chris Rock.
“I want to be a vessel for love,” Smith claimed. ” I want to be an ambassador of that kind of love and care and concern,” he added.
“I want to apologize to the Academy,” he went on. “I want to apologize to all my fellow nominees. This is a beautiful moment and I’m not, I’m not, I’m not crying for winning an award. It’s not, it’s not about winning an award for me. It’s about being able to shine light on all of the people.”
Chris Rock declined to press charges against Will Smith. It looks like Smith has finally apologized to Rock.
The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences said on Monday that it “condemns” Will Smith’s actions at the Oscars and is launching a formal review into his misconduct.

Yep, needs to not only be IN PERSON, but also there needs to be MORE than this, it's too easy for atrocious behavior which just so happens to include the crime of assault/battery.
But in the minds of a lot of Americans, such ghetto behavior is the right of black people because of “white privilege”. They don’t even want good race relations.
Exactly right this apology is effortless and meaningless. But the person he needs to address is Richard Williams.
I don't think so, this is the type of horrific press that is not good press.

From the reports I have seen, everyone involved was low class including the academy. It just reaffirms my decision to boycott the Academy Awards since 2005.

Every now and then he says something that makes sense. More importantly, get the government out of the business of categorizing everyone by race.
The problem isn’t what happened - the problem is that people care about celebrities.
If everyone was like me, these self-important narcissists would be seen and heard displaying their skills in movies, concerts and sporting events, and nobody would give a sh!t about their opinions or personal lives.
Since nobody would care, there would be no Oscar ceremonies, there would be no late night talk shows, there would be no celebrity roasts.
Smith reminded people it is best to avoid black folks whenever possible.

Once again, violence is the response to being offended. Society has taught people how to be offended and how to respond. This affirms that.
Second, Hollywierd types are special, as we see here. They can get away with anything as long as they say “Im sorry”.
Third, this is whats important to the entertainment generation and PR whores. People are struggling all over the world, we have an idiot in the WH, and this moronic story is what news media talks about.
It was clear Chris Rock had a killer zinger he could have delivered but decided to show Will Smith pity. Will Smith was disgraced and now the Smith floodgates are open. No Oscar can repair the damage.Chris Rock was the better man.
