I don’t know much about this story and didn’t see the video, but is there any chance it was a publicity stunt?
Yes.
No. Not at all. Watch it - it wasn’t a slap - it was a fist. Then he screams from his seat twice. Black on black crime.
Noone would 'punch' or even slap a person like this- with the finger angled backwards in order to prevent breaking them and hurting the other person if they were really pissed at someone and intended to hurt them-
I had the same thought when I heard about it. Not so much for the two clowns involved, but to generate some publicity for the Oscars.
Zero chance. Jada has a hair loss condition that Chris made a joke about in poor taste. Will saw how upset it made his wife and got angry. There was a chance it was staged until he started swearing after he sat back down followed by crying through his acceptance speech.
He’s at the pinnacle of his career, only a Jussie would have staged that.
Chris Rock was completely thrown when he started talking.
The reason he didn’t punch him is because he wasn’t trying to hurt him, just embarrass him.
I really doubt it. Will’s wife Jada, also an actress, has autoimmune alopecia, and I doubt Chris Rock knew that. Maybe Will Smith was being overly protective of his wife, but I can’t imagine it being fake given the circumstances. It didn’t help anyone involved.
“but is there any chance it was a publicity stunt?”
my thought exactly as i clicked on the link
It was absolutely a publicity stunt.
Juicy Smell-it 2.0 Not that I really care.
There is no way that this was staged. Will Smith got out of the chair and hit Rock.
Absolutely. Hollywood is desperate for attention.
