It's amusing to see conservatives put their trust in the Biden regime to tell the truth about the war when they lie about everything else.
When it's all over and if Russia settles for eastern half of Ukraine, we'll get the spin that the Russians really lost when that's all they really wanted.
There is a Mykolaivka about 20 km west of Kyiv. There is also one about 10 km east of Slavyansk in the east. Same name, different oblasts.
I saw a great article here on the FR.
It is lengthy, but someone put a lot of thought into it.

IMHO, somewhat by design may it be corporate or government, but partially just in how things evolved, you today no longer have a free thinking, independent, watchdog media.
The convergence of media conglomerates, government outreach and secrecy, big tech, the cozy relationship between much of the media and the Democrats specifically, and today the “fact-checkers” has created a media where you hear the same shit 1,761 different ways (that’s how many TV channels you have), but it’s all the same narrative. Like in the former East block where you had state run propaganda, we in the West today are confronted with a media that censors and propagandizes, where all ideas are not even allowed anymore! Look at Covid, the vaccines, or before that global warming as examples. Who in our watchdog and investigative journalist media questioned initial mortality rates of 20%? Who questioned the vaccine efficacy of 100%? Who questioned Fauci talking about a Wuhan conspiracy? Who questioned Fauci and no gain of function testing? Who questioned the safety of the vaccine? CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC, the NYTs, all of them were “lockstep.”
Once an issue gets inertia and corporate/government (if you have a Democrat administration) takes a side, the media essentially becomes the unofficial PR instrument for them.
You no longer have dissent. Free thought, expression, even the exercise of ones civil rights is seen as a public health risk where some think they have a “right” to rule over your body with mandates, limit your right to free speech or movement, deprive you of a right to privacy and make edicts concerning your private property (how many people can gather), etc. And the MSM will go along with it 100%, practicing apologetics for their corporate masters and political champion.

Only those on the fringes (say an INFOWARS) will present ideas that go against the prescribed narrative. I’m not saying INFOWARS is always right, but they and a few others at least allow for different ideas and thoughts to be thrown out there.

Yes, you are absolutely right. I would not be surprised one bit if I wake up and hear about how Ukraine negotiated a treaty which gives the Russians what they want, no NATO membership. That despite hearing about Ukraine was winning everywhere, girls with blue and yellow ribbons in their hair holding rifles, bla, bla, bla...

BS, completely in their lines of control no where near Kiev
Ukrain can’t surrender. Biden told members of the 82nd Airborne, while he was eating Pizza with them for lunch, that he was going to send them over there. Biden thought it would make him popular with them.
I actually think that when China and India said “no” last week then the Biden admin had to admit it was lost economically, diplomatically and militarily.
He will grab his walker and shuffle feet out to the back porch and shake his fist and yell at the clouds.
Could not find a "Nikolayevka," suburb of Kiev. Is there anyone out there familiar with this area, that can give us the correct information? Thank you.
Problem is, everybody, including our esteemed Jen, is lying now.
Yet!!!
Hezbollah news, like Al Manar. Or Iranian. Same difference.
We have friends in Kiev.
It is hell there. So yea, exchange your boring hell for their hell, great idea.
Civilian life is a boring gray life where you live vicariously through the news or arts.
Looking back, the most vivid memories I have, the best friends I have and still stay in touch with, the most excitement and feeling of “accomplishment,” was when deployed.
I heard that before, “war is hell.” But I’ll tell you it’s a hell I wouldn’t trade for anything. It’s the ultimate hunt - the ultimate game of cowboys and Indians. While you loath it when there (weeks without a shower, crappy food sometimes...), somehow your thoughts and memories remember a romanticized version later. You feel 2 inches taller when you return, and after a while you really do wish you could go back to that “hell.”
I can understand how the Vikings saw things.
You are so predictable...and so pathetic.
Everything, everything being reported by both sides is propaganda…
Period.
The statement in the article that the troops surrendered because of a lack of food is also inconsistent with the supposed location of the command bunker near Kyiv.
“What is going to happen to you when you find out you were lied to?”
From the strong Putin loving useful idiots who listen to Liberaltarian gobbly gook from RonPaul, AlexJones and Qanon.
Conspiracy theories are for the weak-minded and those who can’t internalize the serious world in which we live. Any way you dice how Putinistas are described, they are the 2022 version of Neville Chamberlain’s and surrender monkeys. Weaker and to the Left of Joe Biden, the worst Pres. in US history.
