So where is Harnwell??
My undergrad in business with a minor in econ is from a state college in PA. I had a buddy that went to Wharton at the same time. The only difference, he had money and I didn't. What I was learning was nearly the same. We had the same textbooks for a lot of classes we had in common. The only exception was in my classes all the optional stuff at the end of chapters was required. It wasn't for my buddy. He used to take some classes over the summer and I would help him when I already had a class. He was a smart guy, but it seemed what he heard in classes didn't sink in. I do know one big difference, all of my econ profs were anti-Keynesians, big time. (I highly doubt that would be the case today.) I know for certain that I got the superior education and it was a hell of a lot less expensive.
Quite seriously, anyone that goes to Ivy League schools today, pays for it, and goes into debt is hideously stupid has no clue about personal economics. How can you expect them to make good economic decisions elsewhere? I'll be nice, maybe it's one of those life mistakes that provides the real learning opportunity.
