You're watching the official music video for Starship - "We Built This City" from the 1985 album 'Knee Deep in the Hoopla'.

One of the worst songs ever made. In any language, any culture, etc.
This and anything with Michael J Fox other than Back to the Future were a low point in 80s corporate entertainment.
I loved the song. Upbeat. Loved it. I am very surprised it was voted the worst. One of the best songs of the 80’s.
Throw in Double Dutch Bus and Muskrat Love.
The definition of “Corporate Rock”.
Formulaic, repetitive, predictable, soulless.
Yet somehow less horrible than most rap.
There are way worse rock songs than this one.
At least Walk Like an Egyptian had this:
Grace Slick retired from the music business in 1989, the year she turned 50. Her reason was that 50-year olds look stupid singing rock music.
She’s not entirely wrong.
Hard to believe she’ll be 83 this year. She might outlive Keith Richards.
Thanks a lot... ;>)
And their biggest hit.
FWIW, I’ve been revisiting a lot of old Airplane/Starship stuff recently on Apple Music. There’s some garbage pop, some psychedelic stuff that didn’t age well, but there’s also some phenomenally great music in there. These guys (and gals) were the real deal. First-rate musicians and songwriters.
We Built this Sh_tty!
Not even the worst Phil Collins song. That would be "Groovie Kind of Love"

LOL
I agree. Susanna was beautiful
REO Speedwagon is in the same situation.
Marty Balin sang that.
Balin had the best vocals during the Jefferson Airplane/Jefferson
Starship Era.
Great voice!
“Miracles”
talk about extremes...
i really like that song
I saw them (whatever they were calling themselves at the time) on the Winds of Change tour (1984?) in New Haven (or maybe Hartford) with 38 Special opening.
Most of the crowd was there to see 38 Special, so by the time Starship was on stage, the arena was half full, although they were definitely seeing the half empty. They went through the motions, and when the crowd wasn’t into it as much as they thought they should be, they started cursing at the crowd and saying stupid stuff about all being on the same side.
