ALAMEDA, Calif. (KGO) -- A frustrated customer took matters into his own hands, wrestling with, and even body slamming a suspected shoplifter and his associate at an Alameda Walgreens.

Money quote:
“According to police, the stolen merchandise was recovered and Walgreens did not seek prosecution.”
Good thing he was a customer; an employee would have gotten fired.
Has the tackler been arrested yet? For assaulting the shopper.
I was just going off physical appearance.....both those idiots look like crackhead to me
Good job dude. Glad we’re on the same side.
Back in the 90s the wife and I were in a grocery and we heard a woman from another isle yell “that man took my wallet”.
I ran to the front of the store and sure enough a black guy running out...he dropped the wallet and jumped in his car but I was able to get the tag #. When I went back in the store the woman was telling the manager she didn’t want to call the police because she got her wallet back. I told her I had the guys tag but she refused to do anything.
Apathy like that is what emboldens criminals.
In the Soviet of Washington if any retailerâs employee âassaultsâ a thief doing his career work, the retailer can be held liable. The Republicans have tried the past two sessions to pass a bill stopping this, but the dim supermajority bottles the bill in committee.
This year a friend of mine who is a Representative from the 35th district wrote a bill that just allowed a clerk to ask âare you going to pay for that?â as a thief is rolling out the door with stolen goods. Of course even that was too much for the Marxists.
We are one of the few states that allow convicted felons to serve as a representative. We have one from Bremerton who actually tried to get a bill passed that reduced the penalty for drive-by shootings due to the âequityâ issue. Drive-byâs are done by predominately black/brown perps and itâs not fair to make them suffer for their crimes. https://www.foxnews.com/us/washington-lawmakers-introduce-bill-to-reduce-penalties-for-drive-by-shootings-to-promote-racial-equity
If I were CEO of Walgreens or some other National retailer, I would pick one of the 3 west coast states and I would close every outlet in that state until they fixed or allowed me to fix the problem. Thatâs the only way this is going to stop, along with people understanding elections have consequences. I see that starting to happen here, people are starting to awake from their blissful ignorance.
Repeated thefts should be put together and take the culprits over the limit.
It’s obviously an organized crime business for them and not a one off to make rent, should be prosecuted accordingly.
Same here in Washington. See post #27.
Home Depot has an inventory control specialist group that works in teams. They are comprised of former military, our favorite class of people we want to work at Home Depot, and other associates who are frustrated by the situation.
Itâs a joy to watch these guys in action, they roam the stores and you never know theyâre there untilâŚHowever state law limits what they can do to the perp and they cannot be armed. Even though they routinely have weapons pulled on them, mostly knives.
Career specialists
And they can do it each and every day.
Home Depot has an inventory control specialist groupThat's doing God's work... can't tell you how many times I've come home from the Depot to find the bag of widgets I bought was half-pilfered. Sometimes you can't even find a complete set.
They have an “inventory control group “. It doesn’t mean they do anything.
Every year during the Christmas holidays I see a patrol car in front of the Kohls department store close to where I live with someone in the back.
I can only assume it’s shoplifters.
Kohls don’t play around and good for them.
They have their stuff delivered.
Unfortunately, due to decades of crackheads breeding in CA, there’s a lot of non-addicts that look like that.
Thanks for that....the best laugh I had all day! đ
St. Louis prosecutors will not charge man arrested for trying to carjack police officers
Going after the crooks is pointless.
It looks like both the San Francisco and Los Angeles soros backed district attorneys are going to be recalled this year. The one in Los Angeles has 98% of the attorneys working in his office that want his out. The other is the step son of a terrorist that obama worked with for years and are friends,
There is a strong case to be made for not going around tackling crackheads. Woke corporations vote for this, then let them stew in it. Not my people, not my problem.
