I’m curious as to which ones don’t. Mississippi didn’t when I worked there for a few months in 2015, but I think they do now. (They had casinos, though.)

In Texas, we’ve had the state lottery since around 1990. There’s also Powerball and MegaMillions.

My father and mother both grew up on dairy farms. My Dad was an International Harvester man. Not a John Deere or Massey Ferguson guy.

We had a 1950’s IH Super H tractor. We also had a 1968 Cub Cadet tractor with the front snow blower and mower deck.
He sold that one when he bought a 1982 Cub Cadet. I would guarantee that both the Super H and 68 Cub Cadet are probably still running today.

Dad bought the 1972 Travelall to pull a Carriage travel trailer. It was a rear wheel drive 393 V8 (not V6)
automatic.

I learned to drive on this vehicle. It was a tank.

My brother hit a deer with it too. It broke the front headlight and bent the grill. Killed the deer. My dad took the grill off, straightened it out and put it back on.

I had 5 vehicles with straight 6 engines:
250 in a boat
250 in a Nova
250 in a Chevele
300 in a F-100
300 in a F-150

Every single one was excellent, now I’m not even sure if they still make any. What does that tell you about planned obsolescence?)

straight 6 engines are one of the smoothest engines there are.

I’ve got a 250 six in my 67 Camaro.
Nice smooth engine.
Slight overbore with flat top pistons for 9:1 compression.

Some reports out of Detroit say they are thinking of producing them again Chrysler said they are going to stop making the V8 this year may be the last for the Hemi.

Had a 292 in a nova it would give the finger to a gas station as we drove by.

My father-in-law is big into Cub Cadets, too. He has several old ones that he is restoring. He worked for IH in Amarillo briefly.

As long as you kept oil in those cast iron single cylinder Kohler engines, they will never die.

You see the late 60s early 70s still around here for sale on Craigslist or FB marketplace.

Same story with the old International Harvester tractors from the 1950s. Those cast iron engines and rear ends will last forever as long as you keep oil in them.

Those
