Actor Pedro Pascal has weighed in on the great San Antonio or Austin taco debate.
Pascal was in Austin for the SXSW premiere of the Nicolas Cage film "The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent" and while on the red carpet he was asked which city had the better tacos.
"It's San Antonio people. It's San Antonio. If we're talking about tacos. Chile con queso maybe you get that in Austin, but you get a taco in San Antonio por favor," Pascal said. "No, yes, as far as I remember yeah it's San Antonio."
Pascal expressed his love for Austin, but it probably wasn't a surprise he chose San Antonio. He was born in Chile and his family immigrated to the U.S. when he was a baby. He grew up in northern San Antonio and left the area when he was about 12 but he says he still feels "kinda Texan."
Even though "The Mandalorian" and "Game of Thrones" actor has offered up his opinion, we're pretty sure the "taco war" hasn't ended.

ohio really sucks
I guess he wouldn’t stop at Taco Bell?
San Antonio and Houston have the best Tex-Mex.
I like Taco Bell tacos. There’s a place nearby with a Spanish only speaking 4-1/2 foot Mexican grandma. She makes authentic tacos with foreskins and fish guts — not for me though. I like crunchy with sour cream etc, and no beans or cilantro.
any place in sd rocks
tex mex is not mexican :(
little abeulas can cook!
san antone is ok if you go to the mercado.
the river walk is trash except the iron cactus
Houston is pretty diverse
This is the way...
“san diego beats them all.”
I have to agree with this. Many, many years ago I had some tacos at some place in San Diego (I have no idea what the name of the place was; hell, it’s been about 50 years). I grew up in Southern California, and I lived in Texas for a while. The best tacos I ever had were those from that SD place. But, I also agree that San Antonio has better tacos than Austin.
The best takos are in Osaka.
Houston is full of great food. From the proverbial diners and small family owned places, it’s one of the world greats. Austin is too concerned with being hip and fancy, imho.
Detroit has good tacos. Go to West Vernor.
Just pick any Mexican bistro where the menu is in Spanish.
Atomic Cafe in North San Diego County has the best Mehican food. The chili rellenos are made with purple chili peppers. At least the Mexicans have good food.
Soft shell made with corn masa or I ain’t buyin’! Austin is the most overrated city in the entire United States.
Like NYC as far as diversity of cuisine.

South Dakota? Go for the bison burgers.
