It’s still gay to drive one.

” Has anyone else ever wondered whether the difference in performance between the two is due to a software imposed limit rather than because of the hardware of the two being different?”

Hardware. Motors, battery, suspension

I read this somewhere:

"Elon Musk has managed to invent a coal burning car that has it's exhaust 400 miles away".

From a styling aspect, it looks like they are trying to recreate the Mustang II.

It’s well known that achieving optimum lithium ion battery life depends on restricting charging to no more than 80%, and not letting them discharge below 20%. That leaves 60% of the advertised range as a realistic baseline for day-to-day use.

still, $72,990 is pretty pricey for a golf cart, even a really cool one ...

The other approach is to greatly increase annual vehicle registration fees as the car ages.

“Realistically, how many people drive 150 miles every day.”

The number is a lot greater if is once a month or once every six months.

A large problem once a month is still a problem.

I still prefer to fill up, use the bathroom if needed, get a
drink or coffee and be on my way in about 15 or so minutes.

“A large problem once a month is still a problem.”

Recharging once a month is not a problem concerning battery life.
