Last week, when I picked up my 3- and 5-year-old from school, I found myself drawn to the family pictures that adorn their classroom walls. The teachers asked us to send these photographs along with our children on the first day of school, as both a comfort measure as well as to help the kids get to know each other better. There’s me and my wife, smiling along with our two boys — all of us wearing helmets as we paused our family bike ride to take a photo.

There are gay men conservatives but not so much with the lesbians. They all only listen to NPR and Rachel Maddow.

Me too. Governor DeSantis is the most courageous governor in America - perhaps the most courageous currently serving politician at any level.
Disney messed with him and rather than folding, Governor DeSantis rightly threw the genocide card right into the face of the plastic rat. Even I was shocked at his nerve.

I’m not sure that would be effective. It would encourage people to spy on each other, gossip, backstab, etc. I’m not super feminine but I’m not a lesbo. I’ve had female roommates before and people spied on us just because - I imagine it would have been a lot worse if they thought they could get us in trouble with the law. (Again, we weren’t “doing anything” - it’s just a handle for a**holes to try to control one. They can say something if they just see you braiding somebody’s hair.)
Public acts of indecency - doesn’t matter who’s doing it - have been illegal since ancient times. I’m all for that. But I’m pretty sure things are going to get a lot worse before they get better, never mind what I think.

Think about it this way: even if poorly enforced such statutes would protect society from these people running amuck in society. There would be no same sex shacking up recognized by law, no civil rights in the name of perversion, and so forth.
Those laws were a way to keep a lock on them in society, limit the harm they and their allies would do.
