I have no idea what the real solution is, but we now live in a world of propaganda and economic warfare that is tremendously deep. If some country gets on the “bad” list, then it’s time to throw away all products and artwork associated with that country. Your supermarket carries Russian dressing?? Better not buy it!! You were planning on growing beets this summer?? Don’t do it!!!! People make borscht out of that stuff!

Having said that it’s probably wise to remove that program. For security, there are a lot of apps and programs people shouldn’t be using. This is just one more to the list.
I have used two purchased security programs, one had an update that down loaded viruses. The other, on a test period made the PC run slow and erratic.
It’s not about cancel culture and it does make sense.
I think "cancel culture" is really the same thing as "virtue signaling." Two sides of the same coin. Both are out of control.
