The Russian troops in Transexual Transylvania near Moldova @ 2,000 +?
Maybe we can send "Admiral" Levine over there.
The Russian navy is weaker than the Pakistani. It has no real aircraft carrier and Odessa’s harbour is mined. This is going to be another fiasco for Putin.
What makes you think they haven't been negotiating in good faith?
Or do you want Ukraine to fold over for Putin?
Oh wait, going by your posts, that is exactly what you want them to do - surrender to the dictator.
No. Biden refused Harpoon anti-ship missiles.
Odessa is a prize only in denying Ukraine access to a port. The Russians already have great ports like Sevastopol in Ukraine.
Putin considers Odessa his #1 prize in the war. It has always been his #1 prize.
Russians aren’t going to land in the harbor initially. They’ll try to drop paratroopers there. They tried to land paratroopers there 3 weeks ago in bad weather and at night and they got blown into Zatoka lake and black sea instead of Odessa harbor.
Russians are going to land at Kobleve beach and near Zatoka on beaches and those beaches are mined.
Russian major general killed by Ukrainian forces in Mariupol
fifth Russian general killed
Why are these things happening?
Who caused them?
When did it start?
What caused this?
And the result of the answers to those questions above? Putin.
Fox News cameraman killed in Ukraine
Agree...with Biden’s help. The world is screwed.
Sounds like Ukraine is now getting serious, finally.
You gotta love the Bidensta buttbois.
Yup
Well, they don’t have whales in the Black Sea.
No battle today.Just lobbed a few missiles and went home.
This is from 3/8 but one of best analysis i’ve seen.

“capturing Odessa has little immediate strategic value. The city is blockaded by the Russian Black Sea fleet and is located in a relatively isolated corner of southwestern Ukraine. Second, an operation to capture the city would be fairly difficult. Advancing overland would involve crossing several rivers whose bridges could be destroyed to slow Russia’s advance. Additionally, the supply line from Kherson to Odessa would be 200 kilometers long and exposed to Ukrainian attack from the north. Amphibious and airborne landings are difficult too. Ukrainian forces at Odessa have had over a week to prepare defenses. Much of the coastline is made up of cliffs making any amphibious landing only feasible at a handful of nearby beaches. There are videos of some of these beaches being mined, in additional to other defenses being prepared. An airborne landing would be difficult, as Ukrainian anti-air defenses are still functional and American airborne early warning intelligence is being reported to the Ukrainians. I believe instead Russia will keep the prospect of an advance on Odessa possible in order to keep Ukrainian forces tied down in the city. During the early days of the war there were repeated rumors of Russian air and amphibious assaults on Odessa, and on day 8 (March 4th) the Black Sea fleet made a very public appearance near Odessa. I suspect all of this is simply Russian strategic deception meant to keep Ukrainian forces near Odessa and not sent to Kiev or elsewhere.”

Putin wants Odessa for his ego. It’s not a logical target at this time for sure.
