Maybe daddy had him knocked off.
Nice neat story all wrapped up with a bow.
Maybe this was a tragic accident, but I hope there is a thorough investigation by the local authorities to make sure it really was an accident.
No,…….not the bow….the stern.
People don’t think at a moment like that. You’re absolutely right, though, and I think boaters need more training.
Nobody knows. That’s the truth. I think we all just hope we go out doing the right thing.
As part of a billionaire Venezuelan family, this guy did not have to experience what most of the hardships the citizens of Venezuela have had to experience. Yet his wealth did not spare him from a tragic death. At least he died in an act of courage and chivalry.
An awful question I torture myself with is would I thrash and pull my wife down to gain leverage for air. The survival instinct is so overpowering.
Shielding her from gunfire would cause the protective instinct to kick in.. easy. But going down for the third time might involuntarily negate all my loving intentions.
Yeah, for some reason the title doesn’t mention “son of a Venezuelan billionaire.”
IOW, his father was quite dirty.
I too have no info on this man, but his one heroic act will carry on his name....prayers to the family.
Why wouldn’t the Captain shut the engines down if there was an ‘overboard’ situation?
A friend’s brother died in a small boating lake after being hit by a prop. It was the same lake their sister had drowned in 20 or so years earlier.
There’s so much wrong with that apparent story it makes my head hurt. Jumping into the prop wash? Not shutting the drive down? Not stopping the boat? Not throwing a ring or vest first? Nobody had a vest on? A boat that big must have had at least a 36” prop which would sting at any speed? Just weird.”
More money than brains.
Just curious.
“He’s not the one who fell overboard. She was.”
Buzzard didn’t say he did.
“Why wouldn’t the Captain shut the engines down if there was an ‘overboard’ situation?”
Just a guess. He had eyes on her and was maneuvering not expecting anyone else to jump in.
