Place three Worcestershires in a two quart sauce pan, and cover with water.
Bring it to a boil, allow to boil for six minutes, being careful to not let it boil over.
Then remove the Worcesteshires and dispose of them in the trash.
Pour the liquid from the saucepan down the drain, followed by copious flow of clear water.
Pour three fingers of your favorite bourbon, sit back, and enjoy.

While growing up, my brothers and I pronounced it as "Wooshen-sooshen sauce" ...

Lol!

The next time I’m at the grocery store I’m going to ask a clerk for it by that name!

🤣

Just remember not to use it as an embalming fluid.

Read Homer J Simpsons copies of Harper’s Weekly and New York Times from the 1850s and you’ll see ads for the originals.

It’s fascinating.

Just adds saltiness/umami, like fish sauce.

Rube Goldberg could have illustrated the entire process in one of his wacky schemematic spreadsheets.

My grandmother was from Gloucester County, Virginia,

To hear her say it, it sounded like ‘Glos-tuh’.

Love the stuff.

Do I really want to know how it’s made? Is there a barf alert involved?

I happen to like anchovies. So that’s no deterrent.

But bugs and worms would be. Or cat poop, etc. How bad is it?

I hate peppers. The other stuff is at least tolerable.

Pasta Puttanesca is basically spaghetti with anchovies, capers and black olives. Smells awesome, tastes awesome, just don’t tell guests whats in it. I like to tell them after their second plate though.....

Anchovies are wonderful in sauces and dressings. I can’t stand them on pizza.

Worcestershire sauce is great in meatloaf, and as someone else mentioned in Bloody Marys.

Vina Dosh (portugese marinated pork)
Puttanesca (italian garlic/capers/olives/chili flakes)
Caesar Salad
Asparagus

You can cheat at any pork cooking contest by adding anchovy, just don’t tell people. Crock pot pulled pork for example

It is a real flavor bomb.
