The COVID theater curtain is closing, and nothing makes it more obvious than a recent interview with Rochelle Walensky, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Although couched in giggles and approval-seeking glances, Walensky’s remarks last week to an interviewer at Washington University School of Medicine reveal an astonishing level of ignorance and incompetence at the top levels of pandemic response.
The full interview is available to watch here, but a 45-second clip (see below) which went viral on social media this week captures the essence of what the CDC director said.
“I can tell you where I was when the CNN feed came that it was 95% effective – um, the vaccine,” Walensky said.
“So many of us wanted to be hopeful. So many of us wanted to say, ‘Okay, this is our ticket out, right? Now, we’re done,” she added, tucking her hair behind her ear and giggling.
“So, I think we had perhaps too little caution and too much optimism for some good things that came our way, I really do,” Walensky said, looking about her and nodding.
“I think all of us wanted this to be done. Nobody said ‘waning.’ When, when… ‘Oh this vaccine’s gonna work. Oh well, maybe it will wear off,’” she giggled.
“Nobody said, ‘Well what if …it’s not as potent against the next variant…?”

I don’t understand what’s going on or what went on when I wasn’t watching! Went to the store on Thursday and all the plastic barriers/shields have been removed from checkout and at the pharmacy - no one in the deli was wearing masks when I got a sub. It was like it was all one long nightmare and things are back to normal now? When or why was that decided?
Very good question. Among other reasons, there is no accountability for their failures.

We've spent some years of vocabulary like "non-essential" and "essential" workers, and I think back to the 500 or so days that Belgium went without a political government, but only the minimal to do that sort of work. Nothing broke. I worked there then. The lesson drawn for me -- and now amplified by the B-idiot-den administration and its cheerleaders whose deeply sophisticated thinking was "orange man bad" -- is that government as it grows becomes the enemy of the people. A good percentage of our rulers are now unserious, over-promoted women who cackle or giggle to (unsuccessfully) cover up their incompetence.

I doubt there’s any foreign country that takes us seriously right now. We are ruled by ignorant, evil children.
