Through 2019 and 2020 the women worked to increase Republican turnout across South Texas, with Flores running Hispanic outreach. For the most part, they toiled out of the spotlight. Even when De La Cruz announced a congressional bid, in 2020, to try to unseat two-term Democratic congressman Vicente Gonzalez, national and state Republicans paid little attention to her campaign... In 2016 Donald Trump hadn’t even mustered 30 percent of the vote in Hidalgo County, where Gonzalez’s district was anchored.
Then everything changed. The world of South Texas politics was rocked in November of 2020, when Trump far surpassed expectations in all the counties along the Rio Grande, and De La Cruz came within three points of ousting Gonzalez. Long-established Democratic fiefdoms now looked like disputed territories. Progressive Democrats’ messaging about defunding the police, abolishing the Border Patrol, and promoting green energy had proven deeply unpopular.
Republicans have rushed to take advantage. Almost $2 million has poured into one House race alone. The Republican National Committee has opened new Hispanic community centers in Laredo, McAllen, and San Antonio, drawing in curious residents with taco breakfasts and movie nights... This year, after Peña-Garza launched her reelection campaign for HCRP chair, she received a video endorsement from Donald Trump Jr.
Shortly after the 2020 election, Flores announced (using the hashtag #SomosConservadores) her bid to represent the Thirty-fourth Congressional District,.... Flores, who immigrated from Mexico, had built a large following on social media with her hard-line messaging. She’d posed with AR-15s, called Democrats “radical socialist communists,” and sometimes captioned photos with QAnon hashtags, including one meme joking that President Biden wanted to lower the “minimum age” to fifteen. But her district became more Democratic-leaning after the Legislature’s redistricting last year.

if Texas is on the right already, what is this revolution they speak of?
Austin and below.
The “Latinx” homo push was a bridge to far.
The GOP will only let them down. Never trust THe GOP on any issues that you care about.

IOW, Panic Porn from a Partisan Media Shill and Stooge.
If the GOP actually wants to win (a questionable at best proposition), then they should court Hispanic voters by focusing on social issues. While Hispanics don’t really care all that much about abortion, they are not wild about Drag Queen Story Hour and everything that goes along with it. They also don’t go for this feminism garbage. Emphasize traditional education and support family structures.
Hispanics have ran away from socialist nightmare(s).
I always wondered, why they would try to import their mess into the USA. Apparently, many do not!
LOL, people go through all that effort to escape Mexico, only to find, they’re still for all intents and purposes, still in Mexico.
Hispanics always have been more aligned to conservatism in the way they lived their personal lives, strong family, small business owners,...etc. Now they are starting to vote that way. Looks like they were waiting for a glimmer of an actual conservative agenda, not republicanism.
Latinos are conservative in thrir lives
. there are conservative latinos getting the word out to encourage going rogue snd vote Trump back .. Reinstate
They want a better life, not a “Pride” parade. They do not want their sons groomed by weirdos and their daughters dying their hair green and gaining 150 lbs. Economic arguments to people who are often barely literate in their own language is not the way to go.
Almost every Hispanic I know is a staunch conservative.
People who work hard for their money don't want it stolen from them and given to deadbeats.
This doesn’t mean Jack Sh*t with the “democrats’” new mail-in ballots voting system. We don’t know who the **** is voting and how many times they’re voting in our dempanic elections these days.
Hate to disappoint, but the GOPe is incapable of winning. Those fools will somehow crap on it. It’s in their DNA.
I have long believed that the best way to get the Dems to support a border wall is to get immigrants to vote GOP.
Don’t think they have to worry about Biden just gave jobs to all the fly by night illegals from 160 countries.
Gee, you mean the Dems insisting in letting men into girls bathrooms and non-stop talk about queer rights doesn’t appeal to socially conservative Latinas? Who could have forseen that?
