Three Reasons Why Trump Shouldn’t Run for President in 2024

We need a strong and measured president to lead America in these precarious times. One who doesn’t bandy loose threats of annihilation or petty insults against foreign leaders on social media. One who doesn’t necessarily embrace his role as being the most polarizing figure in American politics. One who passionately rebukes the media and demolishes their lies, but remains grounded in logic, reason, and facts.

We need a leader who can’t be tied to leading America into COVID lockdowns or, right or wrong, the mythological January 6 “insurrection.” And most importantly, we need a leader that doesn’t come with the physical and mental impairments that come with 78 years of life on Earth, as Trump will be carrying in 2024.

The frontrunner for that role, it seems clear, should be Ron DeSantis. And while Trump was the right man for the presidency in his time, I hope that he will recognize that his time for that role has passed, and he will pass the torch to his natural successor.

Thanks. I was asking, more specifically, about Trump-supporting GOP wins versus anti-Trump GOP. It seems that Trump is trying to endorse candidates, as he should. He would have to succeed dramatically at this for a second term to be anything different from the first, even with GOP majorities, I think.

I don’t understand the worship. No one as hated as trump can do much even if he won. He was bad at the one thing TV told us he was good at. Hiring and firing. Zero social skills and chess playing ability. I agreed with every word of his written speeches but agreeing with his belief in the USA and the constitution, and agreeing about the tentacles of corruption in the country and world, does not mean I want to see him fail and divide us pushing th other side into dangerous levels.

And on a personal level, his intimate association with Epstein as viewed in the closed circuit camera at the pageant makes it impossible for me to support him. I have an absolute FULL STOP at that close of support for pedophilia.

I not a big fan of “waiting for his turn” or it’s his turn’ type thinking. And as often point out, DeSantis (from Florida) can’t run as VP with Trump (Florida resident) due to restrictions in the Constitution.

Presidential elections are about swinging those in the middle with inspiration and message. Trump has too much baggage to sway those in the middle and he is too old. I’m in my 70s and I know what happens to us as we age when we least expect it.

I will say this. Whoever runs, if he gets past the effort to steal it, will still face security and intel services who are willing to mount a coup d’etat. Someone needs to be war-gaming this now. What does he do in the face of non-stop investigations and impeachments? He needs to come into office prepared take control and dominate his enemies. Trump never understood what he was up against until too late. He knows now, and so do we.

Age has its impact whether good or bad. I’d prefer someone
younger, JMO

On November 5, 2024, the next US presidential election will
take place. On that date, Joe Biden will be 81 and Donald
Trump will be 77.

Trump’s presidency can not be understood absent the astounding opposition to him. To claim his opponents were motivated by his lack of presidential skill is obtuse and disingenuous. The entire house of cards built to oppose him was the creation of the very establishment in control of our government following his presidency. They are a criminal cabal. Refusing to acknowledge the unyielding campaign of patricide aimed against Trump makes understanding the immense effectiveness of his administration impossible. Up to and including stealing the election, the reaction by those who oppose the manifest destiny of the US, is notorious and will finally be overthrown.

There is no difficult conversation that our country needs to have other than how to resolve massive electoral fraud.

Actually, this article and most like it are becoming cliche and postings here from those who agree are very telling. You guys are scared shitless. Scared of what? Crude language? Vulgar behavior? I’ll take that any day over Socialism, corrupt politicians, or Dementia! Are you afraid of a man who isn’t a politician running the country? A man who doesn’t play ball the way you think he should? Yeah let people like Mitt Romney, Mitch McConnell and Lindsey Graham run things in the Republican Party. How well is that working? With President Trump, in 4 years we never had gas prices where they are now, people worked, played and lived their lives without the threat of war; in fact didn’t he cross some zone and meet with some despot to make peace? Didn’t we have pipelines keeping people gainfully employed making our country energy independent for the first in what 70 years? All this while at the same time never trumpers and democrats pushed through two impeachments on the man!!!!!

I could go on, buy why bother. There are actually some posters here on FR who say Trump accomplished NOTHING. And besides if I continue, I might get crude or vulgar like Trump and then someone’s delicate sensibilities will get in a wad. So let me say this:

I’ll be voting for President Trump if he runs in 2024 and fully supporting him with what’s left of my spending money for his campaign, and he will have all my prayers. You people do what you need to do.

I disagree with you on that.

But I’m a STRONG Trump supporter, and will vote for him if he runs

The only plausibile argument the article has is the fact that Trump will be painted with the vaccine & mask fiasco.

He’s not helping himself by continuing to wrap his arms around it. Maybe its his ego driving him to do that. He needs to come up with a way to say given the data “the experts” presented him with he made the “safest possible choice”. Given his situation, it certainly was the only “political choice” he could make. Now that there is more information available he should find a way to say he would do it differently.

I disgreed with his actions on the “pandemic” from the get go. Certain technical developments you can’t rush, even if you have the best of intentions vaccine development is one of them. You rush it you drive up risk & the probablity you’ll do a less then optimal job on this first production run. (Which in this case was really a Beta or a pre-Beta development!) Again even with the best of intentions! Those facts were never properly communicated to the public. Trump fell into the trap of wanting to be like “the government” to the public “omniscience & omnipotent”. Unfortunately thanks to years of poor K12 education the public expects government to be this way. Things obviously aren’t that way, I am sure he knows it for some reason he couldn’t communicate it prperly.

Oh and to those who say Trump is too old, get OVER IT! The man has the health and constitution of someone a decade younger. And even if he didn’t, at LEAST HE DOESN’T HAVE DEMENTIA!

It can be done

I hate to disagree with an outstanding FReeper with a lot of good stuff to say, but that's not the way I see it.

I'll leave it at that.

There are discussions about various candidate’s strengths and weaknesses as a candidate and as a President. Those speculative discussions should be recognized as the thinking exercises they are meant to be.

After that is support or those who decide to run and try for the nomination. Then choices begin to be real with results that matter.

After that when the nominee is selected, we then see our overall resolve.

Right now, we are doing a lot of the first sort of discussion.

Currently Trump spends Easter-Thanksgiving at Trump National Bedminster GC.

New Jersey only requires 183 days (half a year) in the state. All Trump has to do is add a few more days in NJ in 2023 to apply for NJ residency.

Another great FReeper heard from!

Where we disagree is that I think we are in the middle stages of a communist revolution which has seized the commanding heights (school, college, the media) and WILL NOT BE DEFEATED by a government operating under the limits set forth in the Constitution.

The Constitution was written for a civilized people who agreed with its general tenets. The revolution is neither.

The chance for a political solution (through voting) is probably past, but “if there is hope, it lies in the proles”. Neiter party is fit to suppress the revolution.

“Trump is my President. What he went through and what he did for this country makes him the greatest President in probably 100 years.

DeSantis needs to wait his turn. DeSantis for VP, then 8 years of DeSantis after Trump’s 3rd term....”

EXACTLY what I have been saying.

DeSantis isn’t ready. Three 2 year terms as a Congressman and one 4 year term as governor.

Don’t give me that Trump had not been elected to any office, because Trump is a stand alone, ONE of a kind, business man who wants to SAVE this country.

After Trump finishes saving our country, DeSantis will have all the experience he needs to continue Trump’s work.

TRUMP IS RUNNING! TRUMP WILL WIN! He will save our nation.

So to any of you FOOLS that think you can drive a wedge between Trump and his voters, THINK AGAIN! You are wasting good air and bytes. NOBODY else has a chance in hell of beating Trump.

Is Max Boot hiring the writers at American Thinker these days ?

Greatest question of the YEAR.

I love Ron D. but he is second string compared to President Trump.

The real danger is DeSantis splitting the pro-Trump vote and some worm like Pompeo or Pence trying to sneak in and take the nomination. That’s probably why the deep state is pushing the DeSantis chatter.
