According to the all-Ukrainian nationally representative survey conducted by Info Sapiens for the British Research Agency ORB International on March 3-4, 2022, 79% of Ukrainians are against the official recognition of the previously occupied areas of the Donbass region as part of Russia, 75% are against the official recognition of Crimea as part of Russia, and 56% are against the ban on Ukraine’s membership in NATO even if it ends the war.
88% have a positive attitude towards Volodymyr Zelensky – the President of Ukraine, and only 8% have a negative attitude. As for Viktor Yanukovych, the situation is quite opposite – 87% have a negative attitude towards him and only 6% have a positive attitude.
36% are positive about Petro Poroshenko, while 57% are negative about him. As for Yuriy Boyko, it’s 15% vs. 55%, respectively (19% state they do not know who it is). For Yevhen Murayev, it’s 10% vs 40% (42% do not know who it is).
67% are personally willing to put up armed resistance to stop the Russian occupation of Ukraine: in particular, 78% of men and 59% of women.
66% of Ukrainians believe that ordinary Russians are to blame for armed aggression, while 30% state they are not to blame.
Regarding the personal situation, 8% of Ukrainians left their home and moved to other settlements in Ukraine (we did not survey those who went abroad, but only 14 persons out of them were willing to be interviewed – probably most refugees did not respond due to a high cost of roaming).
The most common reasons why they did not leave: “it’s my home and I won’t leave it” (51%) and “I want to fight, defend” (22%).
34% of Ukrainians feel unsafe during the day and 50% – at night.
51% are worried about running out of food, and 39% are worried about running out of water.
Information on the research
The research sample includes 1024 respondents. The survey was conducted with a CATI method (computer-assisted telephone interviews) based on a random sample of mobile phone numbers. The sample is representative for the adult population (18+ years) of Ukraine by gender, age, settlement size, and residence region. The Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol were excluded from the study. In addition, in the Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts, the survey was conducted only in the territories controlled by Ukraine. Also, the survey does not cover Ukrainians who went abroad.
The maximum theoretical error does not exceed 3.1%. The survey was conducted on March 3-4, 2022.
I wonder how Putin will respond.
Zelensky = Churchill
“88% have a positive attitude towards Volodymyr Zelensky – the President of Ukraine, and only 8% have a negative attitude.”
Brandon thinks these are his numbers, LOL!
Well, then, fight on!
So they would rather their country be destroyed than accept a negotiated settlement?
Just a reminder here of Russia’s 12/20/2021 list of demands to NATO:
Article 1: the parties should not strengthen their security at the expense of Russia’s security;
Article 2: the parties will use multilateral consultations and the NATO-Russia Council to address points of conflict;
Article 3: the parties reaffirm that they do not consider each other as adversaries and maintain a dialogue;
Article 4: the parties shall not deploy military forces and weaponry on the territory of any of the other states in Europe in addition to any forces that were deployed as of May 27, 1997;
Article 5: the parties shall not deploy land-based intermediate- and short-range missiles adjacent to the other parties;
Article 6: all member States of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization commit themselves to refrain from any further enlargement of NATO, including the accession of Ukraine as well as other States;
Article 7: the parties that are member States of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization shall not conduct any military activity on the territory of Ukraine as well as other States in the Eastern Europe, in the South Caucasus and in Central Asia; and
Article 8: the agreement shall not be interpreted as affecting the primary responsibility of the Security Council of the United Nations for maintaining international peace and security.
12/10, not 12/20
Zelensky is a pussy who didn’t prepare his people to defend against Russia, didn’t think Putin would do it which just egged him on. He survived 3 assassination attempts from a super power last week so he knows how to cover his butt, but his people be damned. Putin is the only one on the world stage with any balls.
“More rage and bombing of Ukrainian civilians.”
Either that or do what it takes to get Ukraine to meet his terms.
“So they would rather their country be destroyed than accept a negotiated settlement?”
Better dead than red.
That used to be the American spirit until we became a nation of cowards.
Not bad numbers for a guy “installed by Soros.”
All the arguments about Russia’s “legitimate” interests require ignoring the basic right of self-determination of the Ukrainian people. We don’t get to push other people into subjugation just because it’s more convenient for us.
The two aren’t comparable.
“Not bad numbers for a guy “installed by Soros.””
He was 28% before he wagged the dog.
Then, lose your whole country or die. Those are the alternatives.
Crimea and Donbass don't want to be part of a government that was fomented illegally by Ukrainian nationalists that hate Russians and Russian culture.
Those that want to opt of a revolution should have the right to secede.
And, Russia isn't going to tolerate NATO on their doorstep. That is just reality.
“He” wagged the dog? Who again did the invading?
Ridiculous poll. Be like polling Iraqis on Kurdish independence and leaving out Kurds being polled. Why post this garbage
One doesn’t have to be the invader to be the aggressor.
As yourself: Would we have been the aggressor if we invade Cuba in 1963?
