I’m guessing search doesn’t always work

Same article—100+ posts, at least two of which involve people who can interpret the piece correctly, and an interesting observation on something that isn’t quite analogous in Poland.
I’ll have to figure out a good substitute for a White Russian cocktail. Oh, are white, cock, and tail forbidden words now?
Good grief. World’s gone nuts. I’ll bet they cancel his Twitter account too......
“It’s as bad as renaming French Fries.”
Canadians had to rename “poutine” cuz it’s too close to “Putin”.
HOMOPHOBIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Personally, I’m cancelling all of the companies and organizations that are cancelling Russian people and products. They’ll cancel conservatives next. Screw them.
Last week, I bought Gazprom bonds and Sberbank stock. This week, I’m buying Russian Standard vodka.
Don't they know Tchaikovsky was gay?
Incredible. Well, alas, not literally.
I am so appalled by this “canceling” of anyone or anything Russian...it’s like something out of the lead-in to WWI (more than WWII) and is utterly crazy.
But still, canceling Tchaikovsky for being Russian is about the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard of.
Tchaikovsky should have kept his mouth shut and not come out in support of Putin!
The absurdity continues, writers and composers from the past are banned becof the present, why didn’t this happen during the Cold War?
Tolstoy will be next i guess.
insanity
When I was a senior in college in 1976 I took a independent study course for one semester and the assignment was reading 7000 pages of 19th century Russian literature which i did. Doing that gave me a pretty good insight to the Russian people and appreciation for their literature , all this book banning ,music banning, movie banning , and whatever banning is all wrong we’ve lost our minds.
He wanted to join The Five and turn it into The Six, but the five composers of The Five thought he wasn't Russian enough.
If the Russian musicians were to cancel Macdowell, Paine, Beach, Joplin, Gershwin, Copland, Brubeck, Cascarino, Williams, and Glass, we'd throw a fit and say it was Slavic stupidity. Well, it's stupidity here too, regardless of where one stands on the Ukraine war.
All this hoopla over a guy who died 125 years ago so obviously has zip, zero, nada to do with any of this.
No Swan Lake or Sleeping Beauty for you!
This is idiotic.
Very much against my usual practice I read the article (I promise not to make a habit of it) and although they do deserve all the ridicule they’re receiving over firing their conductor, the 1812 might have been a bit awkward given the cannon and whatnot. Exchanging it for another of Tchaikovsky’s works might have looked a little less stupid.
Utter stupidity. And I’m really embarrassed about the firing of living musicians, such as conductors and singers, for the crime of being Russian. This is seriously wrong.
