A McDonald's in Moscow was swamped last night with customers desperate to get one last Big Mac before the American giant shutters its restaurants across Russia.
Hundreds of cars were seen queuing in the snow outside the fast food joint, with one witness saying the line stretched for almost 'half a mile'.
The scenes came after McDonald's said it will close its 850 locations in Russia as western companies continue to pull out of the country following Vladimir Putin's devastating invasion in Ukraine that has sparked global outrage.
Russians have been finding it increasingly difficult to get their hands on Western goods as more sanctions are imposed, pummelling the country's economy.
As bombs continued to fall on Ukraine, a video of the queue showed dozens of cars waiting below McDonald's iconic glowing yellow 'M', suggesting the people of Russia are not loving the brutal sanctions.
As the camera panned, the queue of cars for the drive-through service could be seen curving around a round-about, under an overpass and off into the distance.

Wait until they find out they don’t get to see the new Batman movie until pooty pooh quits pickin’ on the Ukrainian Nazis.
Maybe Russians will actually start getting healthier now.
We should have been encouraging building even more McDonald’s if you really wanted to beat the Russians.
That’ll teach ‘em!

P.S. Let’s Go, Brandon!
Naw too much Vodka in the place.
What is to prevent the franchise owners from reopening with supplies sourced locally? It’s a hamburger stand, for gosh sakes.
Relax Putin will reopen them as Putin King
What I hate about this is the people of both countries suffer.

Eyck! They must be desperate. They should be celebrating closures.
Using a hamburger as a political tool. Pretty pathetic. I’m sure the Russian oligarchs don’t t eat that crap so it’s just the Russian middle class who will be punished.
MCd’s has already said they will raise their prices in other markets to offset the loss of sales in Russia as they will continue to pay the employees there for a few weeks.
So we’re paying for that too.
83% (IIRC) of Russian McDonald’s stores are owned by by McDonald’s.
McDonald’s did say they would keep their employees on a payroll. Not sure if that includes the franchise owned.
What hardship.. Those poor Russians!
Ukraine is a smoldering pile of ashes yet we’re supposed to believe Russia is losing because people can’t get a Big Mac.
Their supplies are local. Also Russia is planning nationalization of the assets of companies moved out, so it is likely to open as exactly the same but under another brand.
Avoiding nationalization may be the reason McDonalds is continuing to pay their employees.
