Fair point. Austin and Milley are trying to destroy our armed forces from within.
What, precisely, are these sited (that is, non-mobile, fixed installation; that's what "sites" means) ABM weapons that NATO has allegedly installed in Eastern Europe? What is the name of the weapons system, who builds it, etc.?
I suggest asking Niccolo Soldo what he means. I am not his grammarian or military advisor. The primary source supporting this statement would be statements attributable to the Kremlin. I am a fact checker either. All of this would be thread hijacking if I went for it. So maybe discuss a theme of the author and stop nitpicking
“No propaganda there. No siree”
You realize there is propaganda on both sides of EVERY war, right?
“All of this would be thread hijacking if I went for it.”
Asking for elaboration of claims made in an article that YOU posted is not “thread hijacking”.
"Statements attributable to the Kremlin" are worthless if they can't be backed up by facts demonstrable from other sources.
The American political mafia would make the Ukrainians blush at their corruption.
So I did some research. They’re referring to the Aegis Ashore systems, one deployed and active in Rumania and one under construction in Poland. Their purpose is to defend Western Europe against missiles from Iran or another mideastern rogue state. A Russian attack would easily overwhelm them, so they would not have any utility in enabling a NATO first strike.
If the side with effective ABM did not have ANY offensive weaponry, THEN your protestations [that a defensive missile system is not a potential threat] might have merit.
Thank you for the simple, factual explanation...
;>)
Of course - huge part of Russian actions, but everyone is acting like nothing has rubbed off on Ukranians. Khrushchev govern Ukraine beginning in 1938 for Pete’s sake. A television actor could have no skill in honing an attractive narrative. </sarc>
Picking fly sheet out of pepper on a tangential point is a fools errand. I pretty politely said I would not go and do that before. So by all means, go figure it out for yourself.
The only reason I referred to what would be primary sources is I was trying to keep focus upon elucidation of the Russian substantiation for their policy positions (Sometimes when somebody does something the actually tell you why). How a potty mouthed journo who grasps the big picture glosses over or fails to state a fact with absolute precision is inanity. But if you want to disregard the entire piece for that reason, just be sure you feel good about yourself.
Cool. Thanks for the info.
Well that's the whole point of this piece isn't it? There is absolutely no self examination in the corporate media about American policy toward Ukraine ( who was getting $ beneft) and how it handcuffed Zelinsky into making horrifice policy choices. The Russian reaction was so predictable and entirely avoidable. The SJW crusaders at State acted, as snowflakes do, without any appreciation that making the world a better place can and does cause disaster.
But no - all Freepers want to do us parrot the propaganda Putin Bad.
That's all bull and you know it's bull, I know it's bull and I'm sure even many Russians know it's bull.
You don't have to think that a foreign enemy of our filthy regime is your friend. He's not.
There are even worse things than the corrupt clownshow illegitimately running our country, and Putin is one of them.
It is not even arguable that paramilitary organizations that gained power in a 2014 coup and invited in to the Ukranian analog to the National Guard, have engaged in thousands upon thousands of violations of the Minsk Accords in the separatist areas, all involving use of prohibited firearms and explosive weapons. and which have been i, have been terrorizing people in the separatist territories. There is also copious facts in the form of statements by the paramilitary leaders advocating white supremacy and adopting the use of Nazi symbols. Don't trust me, do your own due diligence on that. Dismiss it all as Russian propaganda at yiur peril.
As far as the corrupt clown show leading our country, we are in substantial agreement. Yet you seem to miss that US policies, and the biggest clowns in the show with the biggest payoffs coming their way, led Ukraine to make some horrifically bad and patently provoking policy decisions. Frankly, this war should be a flaming tire around the necks of Nuland, Biden and their ilk. But it won't be. I can tell because the facts I am laying out here engender such negative responses from people like you.
Finally, if you really think Putin has a substantial influence on any substantial policies here, we disagree. That's Rachel Maddow type bizarre sheet.
In the Museum of Really Dumb Replies, your #12 will stand on a pedestal near the front door.
So explain please.
Just speculating here, but maybe the missiles are easier to take out sooner after launch(?) Also, one missile may/will carry multiple warheads, certainly it's a good idea to get them all together.
I can't imagine anything harder to hit than nuke warheads raining down on cities.
So, a defensive system may, reduce the "balance of power".
