When his fiancée bought him VIP tickets, Pablo Gallaga expected to spend Sunday, March 6 stuffing himself at the Austin Crawfish Festival. Held at Carson Creek Ranch, the festival was making its return after a two-year hiatus. VIP tickets included all-you-can-eat crawfish and entry into the festival an hour early.

Anything run by liberals is a disaster waiting to happen.
Fyre Festival II...................
and remember kiddies, Zatarains Pro boil II and cayenne make it Goooood!
well, it is Austin :)
For a crawfish festival come to Shreveport’s “Mudbug Madness”.
I know......
I bet they had some wet-behind-the-ears college students running the mess.........................
“Keep Austin Weird” and Austinites Even Weirder. LOL.
The libs probably think the crawdaddys are endangered and it’s animal cruelty to cook them.
Note to self: Continue to boil my own so I am not paying stupid amounts of money for a poor product or another person’s ineptitude.
When it is done right, there is nothing better than a beer or three with 5 pounds of bugs and corn and potatoes. I thank God every year I live in Texas and that I am able to get giant bags of them to cook.
Funny story. Thanks for sharing.
There are dozens of great mud bug feats all across the south. Man I love those things.
PLEASE PUT ‘P’S’ PROMINENTLY & POSTHUMOUSLY POSITIONED in PREDESINATED PARAGRAPHS POR FAVOR
Thx for the cooking tip.
Month or so here in Port Saint Lucie they had a garlic festival with No garlic.

Yep! When I saw it was Austin, nothing about the failures surprised me. But I bet the event staff was diverse, inclusive and multicultural.
I’ve never had crayfish. What is the taste like? (Without all the seaso ing I mean)
I’ve never tried crawfish. They look like they would pinch or tickle my gullet on the way down. Are they consumed whole or dissected?
Tell you what: I’ll sit and drink beer while watching you down the crawfish.
Roger that. We went to a crawfish boil in Yerington NV(?) several years ago and it was surprisingly good. It was a fund raiser for the Walker River Ladies Softball team. The folks that put it together had 1,200 lbs flown in first thing the morning of and whoever boiled it did a pretty decent job. We got tasked(we volunteered after folks observed us chowing down) with showing folks at our table how to do it. Potatoes and corn were okay. The red beans and rice, meh. Mrs rktman does a way better job. We were downing them about 5 or 6 to 1 with our table mates. We left happy. One time we didn’t have an corn on the cob but had canned corn so we popped holes in both ends of the cans and dumped them in (without lables) to the boil. Came out awesome when we opened the cans and dumped them in some bowls.
The rest of Texas should secede from Auston.
Maybe it’s because I spent many glorious summer afternoons hunting and playing with crawdads amongst the rocks in the creek behind our house...or maybe it’s because that pot of crawfish just looks nasty...but I’ll stick with a ribeye.
