The niece of Chicago Police Department's Internal Affairs chief was caught on body camera video warning cops conducting a drug bust that her aunt is a police officer and is 'probably your boss.'
Internal Affairs Chief Yolanda Talley's niece, who has not been named, was driving her aunt's silver Lexus on February 1, when police officers pulled the vehicle over after allegedly observing a passenger toss 84 baggies of heroin worth $6,300 out the window.
That passenger, 34-year-old Kenneth Miles, has been arrested.
Body camera video that was obtained by the Chicago Sun-Times in response to a Freedom of Information request, shows Talley's indignant and irate niece yelling and swearing at officers, and demanding that they allow her to retrieve her belongings, including her house keys, from the Lexus.
During the foul-mouthed verbal exchange seen in the video, which has been edited to obscure the niece's face, the woman tells the cops: 'don't even worry about it, my auntie is probably your boss.'
The niece repeatedly invokes her high-ranking aunt during the back-and-forth with the officers, telling them: 'my auntie is a police officer, too. This is her car.'

Somebody’s about to be removed from all of the invite lists of the family, and it ain’t “Auntie.”
funny how we have to read this from a foreign rag...
National reporting of corruption in Chicago politics would be like reporting that the sun came up this morning.
Yolanda is a very old name, not one of the made-up names common today. Lots of European royalty for centuries have been named Yolanda or variations of it.
“Forget it, Jake. It’s ChiCongo.”
“No need to look. Funny how the UK Daily Mail publishes all this news but the American Drive By media is silent on these stories...hmmmm.”
Lots of better articles from two weeks ago ...
You’re right. I am aware of some very old ladies (most have passed away) named Yolanda.
But this particular Yolanda is probably under 50 (police retire early) and ALL of the under 50 Yolandas I have heard of are black.
“Police arrested Miles on drug charges but let Talley’s niece go, writing in a report that she was a witness.”
According to the local station:
“The boyfriend of Talley’s niece was arrested, though Talley’s niece was released without charges.”

CHICAGO - Once one of Lori Lightfoot’s closest political allies, Chicago City Council Ald. Sue Sadlowski Garza (10th Ward) now says the mayor doesn’t deserve a second term.
“I’m tired of not getting phone calls returned,” Sadlowski Garza said. “I’m tired of letting the inmates run the asylum.”
Garza’s description of dysfunction in the mayor’s office echoes other former Lightfoot allies and insiders.
The mayor has previously dismissed complaints about her allegedly abrasive management style. She’s responded to such critics by suggesting they target her only because she is Black and a lesbian.
Garza explained in some details when podcaster Ben Joravsky asked why she can’t support a second term for Lightfoot:
“No! … Absolutely not. I have never met anybody who has managed to piss off every single person they come in contact with: police, fire, teachers, aldermen, businesses, manufacturing,” Sadlowski Garza said.

Civil “service” jobs are just affirmative action make works jobs.
Want to know why large urban areas are such garbage piles, just look at the the people that run the departments responsible for them.
Stupid, corrupt and lazy.
Chief of IAD, wow. Who watches the watchers. Nice car you got there Yolanda, pity someone should seize it. Followed by, try it you mofo.
Who knows. It used to be common to name kids after parents, grandparents, and other ancestors. I was. There might be a family history of the name.
Names go through popular cycles. There were a couple of movies featuring the name in the early to mid 20th century - something like that often fuels the popularity of names.
The name seems to have begun rising in popularity around 1950, until its greatest popularity in the 1970s. Since then it has greatly declined.
But it was Chief Auntie’s car.
I knew a MexicanAmerican with that name.. She should be about 52 about now.
The article explains what happened with Auntie’s car.
guess she knew “do you know who i am” wasn’t going to work...
good little democrats

Police turned over the video in three business days? That’s actually impressive.
Appears the auntie isn’t going to risk her career and pension to attempt to protect a nephew.
$6,300 for 84 baggies of heroine. Proof that completion lowers prices.
I feel terrible for this dedicated officer.
Silent here in the US.
