Joe Biden is in a bind.
Like everything else, he's blown it. Energy prices have gone through the roof, with gasoline prices at the pump pushing $6.00 a gallon in San Diego alone. They're expected to get higher, and each tic upward takes Joe down another notch in the polls. Biden has throttled U.S. capacity to produce its own energy by ending domestic drilling leases on federal lands. He's also scuppered the Keystone XL pipeline from Canada. In place of that domestic and Canadian energy, we now buy Russian oil, some 600,000 barrels a day -- which just happens to finance Vladimir Putin's war on Ukraine. The idea of putting sanctions on Putin, while keeping his oil money stream open, is like putting a bath plug on the bottom of a boat and ignoring the huge gash on the side.
"Don't underestimate Joe's ability to f*** things up," as President Obama used to say.
What's an incompetent president to do? Not reverse his bad decisions on domestic energy production, of course. Joe's looking for a bailout -- from Venezuela.
His latest scheme is to turn to Nicolas Maduro, the odious Marxist dictator who turned oil-rich Venezuela into a Cuba-style ruin to replace Russian oil.

We all get screwed as Biden goes around hat in hand to all of the oil producers trying to get them to bail him out of his own mess. Yet the mainstream media will act like he is doing some great diplomacy and deal making! Truly disgusting.

Is Venezuela even producing significant quantities of oil? Going back some years, I read their production had collapsed because the oil field workers and technocrats weren’t getting paid, and had skills that were valuable elsewhere, and so had bailed out.

The left enjoys modern industrial things, they just don’t like the mess.
So their solution is to export the mess such as steel production or chemical production or oil production. God forbid we should do it here because it’s so dirty... so let’s just let the peons in other countries do it for us and then we don’t have to worry about getting our hands filthy or our nose hairs fouled with odiferous particles.

They are also in favor of slavery; they can have a lot and not pay much for it. But the optics upset them, so they prefer to keep it as far away as possible.

If we buy EXPENSIVE oil from overseas and burn it here instead of producing MUCH less expensive oil here, there will be much less CO2 produced.

We all realize that average citizens were forced to choose between starvation and eating their own pets not too long ago, don’t we???

Make no mistake. The Communist bloc is back, with a Chinese-Russian axis and spokes like Cuba, North Korea, Iran, etc. The alt-right fables of Putin as a Christian and traditionalist crusader nobly fighting the New World Order are as much nonsense as the disinformation coming out of the American and British media and governments of massive Russian defeats and widespread dissension in Russia.
The Russians and the Chinese believe the Wests terminally decadent, observe their governments are moving into anarcho-tyranny, and note that Biden is possibly the weakest and most stupid American President ever. Putin and Xi are taking advantage of the weaknesses to take America and the West down a notch.

The communists gnawing away inside our government are not looking to increase oil for the US. They are looking for ways to throw money and support towards the communist regime in Venezuela.
This isn’t stupid on paper, but my guess is he’s actually trying to convince Maduro to raise prices and cut supply, so that Americans will suffer even more.
