Welcome to The Bicycle Thread. A monthly PING List for bicycle enthusiasts to share experiences, information and ideas.
I bought two German e-bikes last year - our family now has five.
One of them has a large bucket in the front so we can take the dogs with us.
They get us to places we wouldn’t be able to bike to with “regular” bikes.
You still have to pedal these bikes, they don’t have a throttle or motor of any type - the pedal assist allows to to bike further and up steep hills.
Got a 20-miler (at least) planned for today. Can’t wait to get started!
That bike is amazing!
Wonder when it will be produced?
My dad (professor of engineering) always said the Germans were the best engineers.
I’d love to go early - but can’t get my family up!
Finished yesterday’s bike ride at 10 PM. It was beautiful out, the lights were beautiful - and we have high beams on our bikes.
Thank You for the ping and post! π΅ββοΈπ²
What model and brand of e-bike(s) did you get? Would like to read more. Thanks!
Love those dudes at GCN, and man can they fly....
I am considering buying a Giant Trance X Advanced Pro 29 2.
Is anyone here riding one of these?
If so, do you recommend it?
At some point I expect that I am going to convert to electric. Probably when the knees start to go. I think of it as something fun to look forward to.
The other day I but a chain that is intended for electric bikes on my non-electric bike because my old one got stretched and thbe electric bike chain is heavyier. Want a nice difference!
Pro Tip for everyone: Inspect if your bicycle chain is stretched and change to a heavy chain. You will love the improved ride.
Those wacky Germans really like to tinker.
I wonder if it is more efficient though.
Would be a cool thing to see on the street!
I actually thought of doing night rides too, soon when the weather turns warming.
It’s been freezing cold here with 4 or 5 severe wind storms coming one after another.
LoL!
I wonder what the record is.
Thanks for that.
Yea I am always glad to wake up to a new video to watch while having coffee before riding.
