IOW, Merkel would be against CRT, which is anathema to understanding history. By all means teach American history, with all of its warts and misdeeds. However, one cannot understand "history", while presenting the good that was accomplished.

Hah? By the end of the war Hitler was roundly reviled by most of Germany. If these conspirators were considered traitors for trying to assassinate the paper-hanging corporal it was by a decided minority.

Another high level plot to assassinate Hitler included the participation of a pastor: Dietrich Bonhoeffer , one of his tasks was to take advantage of his contacts in England to arrange a meeting with Churchill. He was rebuffed by Churchill.Bonhoeffer was executed weeks before the end of the war.
