The family of an Activision Blizzard employee who died by suicide in 2017 is suing the company for wrongful death. The complaint from Janet and Paul Moynihan claims that sexual harassment at the company was a significant factor in the death of their daughter Kerri Moynihan, a 32-year old finance manager at Activision Blizzard who was found dead at an Activision Blizzard company retreat in 2017.
Moynihan's parents filed the wrongful death lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court. According to the report, Moynihan is the employee referenced in the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH) lawsuit that was filed back in July last year.
The lawsuit calls Activision Blizzard liable for preventing the harassment Moynihan faced while working for the company including at a holiday party where explicit photos were passed around among employees. Activision Blizzard previously called the details in the DFEH lawsuit "distorted, and in many cases false." The wrongful death lawsuit also claims that Moynihan's direct manager, who has since departed Blizzard, lied to investigators from the Anaheim Police Department about his relationship with her.

They are just now filing the lawsuit, five years after their daughter’s death?
Dude came onto her and she offed herself over it?
Bye bye, snowflake
There’s a bit more to it than that.
The article states harrassment, but that is such a broad term nowadays that it could mean almost anything.
I got bullied as a little girl, horribly, and it made me grow up to be emotionally impervious to insults and other verbal harrassment. It’s almost impossible to offend me at this point.
I wonder what it was that happened, but I’m sure we’ll find out eventually.
Activision Blizzard, Inc. is an American video game holding company based in Santa Monica, California. It was founded in July 2008 through the merger of Activision, Inc. and Vivendi Games. Activision just got purchased by MS, if I recall right. More money to be had now then before.
Maybe they just received information pertinent to her death.
That's just extremely disgraceful behavior in the workplace. Or any place, really.
Many employers have given up on those kinds of parties because of potential litigation—drunk employees can do lots of stupid things.
