The deputies had been sent to the intersection of Downey Avenue and Artesia Boulevard to handle the street racing call just after midnight when they were approached by someone who said they had been stabbed by a person with a garden claw, a news release from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department stated.
The victim then pointed to a man in his 30s and identified him as the suspect.
The unidentified suspect fled southbound on Downey Avenue when deputies attempted to detain him.
The suspect then turned and advanced on the deputies while swinging the garden claw, which had spikes on the end of it, the Sheriff’s Department stated. The claw was said to be about 3 feet long.
“A deputy-involved shooting occurred” at that point, the release stated.

THE CRAW!!!!..........................
It’s craw, not craw!
Good film noir...The scarlet claw...Sherlock Holmes..Basil Rathbone.
Sadly, another schizophrenic or person on psychotropic drugs.
By some persons understanding the perp was ‘unarmed’. Not sure what it takes to make people understand that regardless of the situation, ‘unarmed’ does NOT mean undangerous. Assault garden claws can be deadly. Here is a dangerous version of The Claw by a buddy of mine:

Did the “claw” in question have an overall length of less than 26 inches? Was it capable of making more than one cut with one swing of the arm? Was the handle of the “claw” detachable or extendable, or removable. Were the individual claws made to be easily replacable. Was the claw able to be easily concealed? Until all these questions and a few more are answered, we must assume that this attack was carried out by an assault claw which is prohibited.

NO... THE CRAW!!!
Times have really changed. I graduated from Bellflower sr. High class of 73.
Pretty middle class white neighborhoods.
Democrats can screw up a wet dream.
Sadly, several years ago Jerry had a stroke while in LA and wasn’t found for 12 or so hours. We had talked not to long before that and he was planning a visit. In a care facility now in the LA area and partially paralyzed and just somewhat verbal. Sad stuff. Friends since ‘62 in high school together. I’m still tryin’ to pick but nothing close to that. :>}
Those are pictures of claws. Not craws.
Depends upon who's talking, or writing, in this case. Humor, my friend, humor.

I lived in Paramount and graduated from PHS in 1972. They screwed up all of that area, from Pico Rivera to Long Beach.
