Coke Freestyle machines seem to have all of the soda flavors you could ever want. But not even the Coke Freestyle dispensers can bring back the discontinued sodas of yore. From the inventive (Coca-Cola combined with coffee, anyone?) to the truly strange (we're looking at you, bacon soda), the beverage industry has come up with some wild creations over the years.
Here are a few soda flavors that have gone the way of the dinosaur. We can't say we miss them, but it's fun to reminisce about these vintage options.

Cane Sugar (”Mexican”) Coca-Colas are where it’s at!

I guess I’ll have to try the salted peanuts in Coke one of these days.
I had never even heard of such a thing until this thread!

How Cokes used to taste when I was growing up.

I actually liked Vernor’s; too bad the owner couldn’t/wouldn’t compete with Canada Dry or 7-Up.
Anybody ever drink Squirt Lemon-lime soda? It would pucker you up big time. Definitely not a thirst quencher. Or Grapette? 125% sugar.
RC Cola, Grape or Orange Nehi - some others of my youth.

I still think New Coke was a temporary head-fake to cover the switch from cane sugar in “old” Coke to corn syrup in “Classic” Coke. Exactly.

I’ve visited the Coca-Cola headquarters in Atlanta. There you can sample Coke versions sold around the world. Some are truly disgusting.

Love Squirt. Wish I could get Diet Squirt in Texas.
My wife is not a happy camper because Barq Root Beer is not in any of the local stores.

The relatively new “No Sugar Coke” is actually good. My wife couldn’t tell the difference between it and regular Coke.

Try the new Starlight Coke. It’s supposed to be a limited time, but it’s awesome and it’s hard to describe. They say it tastes like Space.

I wish I could find Bubble Up. We had it during breaks at summer basketball camp in the 70s. It was basically 7-Up, lol. “Kiss of lemon, kiss of lime.”

Cracker Barrel used to sell Bubble Up. Don’t know if they still carry it in their stores.

What I want to know is why Fresca still exists. Because, when it is about 90 degrees in the shade and you have just finished the yard there is nothing better.
